Do you search for a similar topic before staring a discussion?

I just notice that there are some who create a discussion when there is a similar topic already. I'm not ranting though. I know they can earn if it's their own discussion. It's just that there's too much redundancy, and if that's fine with the administrators of mylot I guess there won't be any problem, right?

The guidelines say "DON'T post similar or identical postings. Stealing posts from other users or posting the same thing over and over again will not help your myLot earnings. Multiple identical postings, even if legitimate, may be considered spam."
So we should really search before starting a discussion to see if there are already similar ones.
We might even earn random rewards in the process...

Very similar posts are actually deleted by Mylot. But there are seemingly the same title of certain posts but there are some twists in the content, so that stays for us to read and respond to.

Yup, different title though but I think some have almost the same ideas. For example there's the discussion about valentines, there's this one 'how do you feel about valentines day' and then there's one "are you a valentine fanatic" they are different but it can be merged it the same discussion right?

Yeah, maybe. But it is on how the member puts in the right words to explain what he/she really want to share with all of us and what he/she wants to know. There maybe a slight similarity, though.

Hi there kourdapya, many would search first and respond to the discussions, but often there may be similarities to the discussion or topics created, but just that the real content can be different. :D I'd say that mostly people would create discussions especially if they want to just rant and share their thoughts to the mylot community.

I try to make sure that there are not topics around if I make one, but sometimes you never know, because some topics might not be of your interests at all. Yeah I try to make sure that I can see something else before posting, but you know sometimes you never know. If it is about money or something like that make sure that you check, because you can be making a discussion that already has some answered questions. Good Luck to you and have fun.

Yes I do that, and oh sorry, the word should have been "starting" and not 'staring". I've seen many discussions having the same topics, only that the title has different wordings or set of words to identify the discussion subject.

Yup, that's the best time to start a new discussion. Otherwise there's too much redundancy. I just wish that discussions with similar topics could be merged. That's just my point of view.
