Hot Springs, AR is one of my favorite places to go for vacation. At the Hot Springs Spa, just behind the main drag, you can treat yourself to a wide variety of hydrotherapies, steam, sauna and massage for a fraction of what you'd pay most anywhere else in the country. And their therapists are top notch. Dignitaries and tourists from around the world have been coming to Hot Springs to "take the cure" for over 100 years now. It's actually been designated a National Park. In the town square, there's a public fountain where toursist who supply their own water jugs can gather all they like to take home at no charge, with a convenient parking area close by. There are marvelous restaurants there, as well. Amongst the Italian, barbecue and home cooking eateries, you'll find surprises like a German restaurant offering potato latkes and a Vietnamese buffet serving unique Southeast Asian delicacies. The Duck rides are a fun guided tour around town and on Lake Hamilton in amphibious vehicles dating back to World War II. There's also a tea room with poetry and art exhibitions regularly, as well as a Farmer's Market and wooded parks with streams to relax in. Hot Springs is a must see.

That sure sounds like an ideal place to get pampered my friend, people pay a fortune to stay at health spas for very much the same treatment as you describe at Hot Springs, I love massage especially after my rigorous exercise at the gym three times a week, afterwards I ache, and a massage would be wonderful, unfortunately they don't have any treatments at the gym, unless of course it's physio. Thank you for sharing your experience at Hot Springs, if only there was a place like that here in the UK.

Hey old friend! Hot Springs, Arkansas offers a number of old fashioned health resorts with mineral springs and massage therapy. At this particular spa, an entire day partaking of everything they offered only cost me $20, including massage, locker and towel rental. One year I visited Hot Springs, Arkansas five times! Everytime I got home, I barely got the pets out of the vet's, got laundry done and took care of my businesses, then we turned around and went back to Hot Springs, Arkansas again. Good year, lots of fun, even made friends with the locals.

I adore hot springs and find them very relaxing indeed. I love to sit in warm water and do so in a jacuzzi at my local sports center. I know that isn't as lovely as the natural hot springs. In New Zealand I went to Hot Springs Beach. I dug a hole and then sat in it. I mixed the hot and the cold water together to make the ideal temperature. I am glad saw the nearby Cathedral Cove too. Wow! I am glad that you enjoyed the Hot Springs at Arkansas.

Hiya maxi! I didn't know that New Zealand has hot springs, too. Thanks for sharing! At Hot Springs, Arkansas, you just pay your fee, stop by the locker room to change and stow your stuff, then take your pick of mineral spring therapies. You can wade or swim in a warm pool with rails for the handicapped, lie back on a mesh sling in your own cutout in the cement floor, with healing water bubbling all around you, cop a squat in a sauna or steam room or get a decadent massage. Hot Springs, Arkansas spas are absolute bliss!
