Do you think that the length of Indian movies are long?

yes 3 hours is a long time to sit in one place and watch a movie but here in the states we do have some that are just as long if not longer I guess it is all up to how bad you want to see the movie

I used to have an Indian friend and I would watch movies with him at home. I loved them! They were so cheesy but also very interesting and I would become totally involved. I can't remember if they were long...I doubt I would have noticed.

Hi there.. i haven't seen other indian movies except for the three idiots but honestly there were a lot of scenes that can be eliminated in there and the story won't be sacrificed at all. I understand too that they love to sing and incorporate dances however... they cam always try to keep these at a minimum. Not a lot of people likes musical and their stories could have been great if all elements of a movie is or was well balanced. Sometimes the setbacks for these movies are that you really feel how long it is because it was jot able to keep you joked to it all through out. There were movies even if they are too long.. but still you would hardly notice the time.

A major reason could be because there are 5-6 songs in every film and that itself take 30 minutes. But now a days films have been shortened upto two and a half hour. If film is interesting that it doesn't mind whether it is of 2 hours or 3 hours. If there are no songs I will not go and watch a film in theater.

i also watched 3 idiots. it's almost three hours but i think it's worth it. i think bollywood movies are longer because they have some production movies within the movie. don't you enjoy them?

Indian movies are usually long but these days the movies that are being are not like the 3 hour movies that have always been made in india nowadays movies stretch maximum to 2 and a half hours.In india the movies are designed to give a full package of entertainment to the audience they are a mixture of action,drama,comedy and music.So it does get difficult for the film makers to include all these in the usual hollywood time limit.

Two hours would be the maximum for me, anything longer and I start to fidget, need a toilet break, or would start to get bored, I think there was only two films that were over 2 hours, Titanic and Lord of The Rings.

yes..its long.. and its usual for them.. 2hours plus all the time..

Indian are crazy about two things movies and cricket.Movies Actor and actress and Cricket player earn huge money and recognition in India.As they are crazy about movies and cricket ,they love film stars and and Cricket player and spend their huge time watching them .I guess this could be one reason as why Indian movies are so lenghty.You said that you have already watched more Indian movies than chinese.Have you watch Ghajini,Sholay ,Munna Bhai MBBS.Bawaarchi?

yes, it always 3 always at the minimum, i think it because of the dance.

without any doubt indian movies are to long due to the songs. But without songs lot of movies may not hit enough as they are. Item song made a movie to go up in indian movie industy now a days..

Being an Indian, I got used to it since childhood. So, what I feel is that the hollywood movies are too short... hehe
