why can guys remember to put the toilet seat up when they pee but can't remember to put it back down after. drives me nuts. really how hard is it. Then there are so many people at my work that use the bathroom, turn the light on when they go in and never turn it back off when leaving. this drives me nuts. i'm constantly turning off the light.

Now this is all wrong... We live in the 21st century, for the sake of equality - Shouldn't you ladies be leaving the seat up for the men?

Rob i'm a woman and i agree with you. I even asked my bro in law about this. If guys have to leave the seat down for women shouldn't women leave the seat up for men?

My hubby sometimes puts the seat down when hes done but not always. I don't care if he leaves it up or down no matter to me. I mean when women pee should they then put the seat up for guys. Sorry if the woman has to go pee real bad but just put the seat down why do people make a big deal out of this. I'm a woman and i couldn't care less if the seat is up or down because if it's up i can put it down fast enough not to pee on the floor or myself before getting the seat down.

oh i have the same concerns or issues with my brothers over here. believe me, you do need patience with people like them. my brother does this all the time, he would bring all his shampoo, men face washes and so on to the bathroom and leave them in there! arghhh. now if he asks to borrow my thing/s ummm like my toothpaste he would leave it where he finds it convenient and won't bother to return! so does my older brother, he would borrow my charger, and say he forgot it in his office, he also forgets to bring home my umbrella that he borrowed... and even my sd card he'd forget that he borrwed it from me. then its all just thank you. =P men are you all seriously like this?! he he

I don't have that problem at home. My hubby never leaves the seat up. I find that also so annoying and lazy on the man's part. I find younger men and my nephews do this. Its like it shows me how lazy they really are. The worse though for me is when they leave it up and pee is all around the top of the rim. That is so disgusting to me. They need to learn to clean up after themselves.

It is a good habit for people to remember to put the toilet seat up when they pee and turn the light off,but there are always some people forget the details.Maybe their behaviors will make the host unhappy.I don't like those people.

I also have same problem when my husband using toilet, I am always after him to put that back down and turning off the light. I just think some are not that much responisble and they are careless about things. they just think of doing their work and not at all after they finish, so they leave it for another.

My experience is that it is women that habitually leave lights on. Women I will leave the seat down for you, when you leave it up for me all the best, urban

Yes, I agree there are far more important things and we shouldn't sweat the small stuff. What I am saying is that if a woman wants to make a big deal about whether the seat is up or down then they should start by setting an example of such consideration and since most times men pee then most of the time they prefer the seat up all the best, urban

I don't see that the problem in leaving the seat up or down. For women if the seat is up when you have to go put it down before you go. For guys if it's down put it up to go whats the big deal. Some have said this is serious matter. If this is so serious then what is cancer in your family a lost dog of yours war in the world. I'm not trying to be mean in any way i'm just saying there are way more important things to worry about and way more serious things than weather or not the toilet seat is up or down and guys in my house leave lights on more than the woman.

Guys don't really need the seat up all the time anyway because they can also sit to pee. Unlike woman they can seat or stand or it shouldn't matter to guys anyway.

I'm male and always put the seat down. I grew up in a largely female environment and know better not to do otherwise. I also clean it and me after use. I turn off the light too. But then I'm the one that pays the bill!

Oh, this is definitely one of my pet peeves. My husband is typically pretty good about putting the toilet seat back down after he has used the bathroom. However, last year I had some friends that were staying with us as well and they were not nearly as good at putting the toilet seat down after they'd gotten done in the bathroom. I know that there were several times that I got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and I ended up falling into the toilet because someone had not put the seat back down.

In public rest rooms I am very cautious but in home I just hate when you sit down and think you are going to fall in. Have you ever been to places that are not modern and spent an hour looking for the light switch all the time getting in more of a rush.

My ex husband was the worst for not doing that. my son is good. Never had the light problem here. How is your new home?

I solved that by having a toilet just for him. He can leave it up or down.

That works well as long as it is connected.

people should follow some decency, and thing of all. putting some instructions inside the toilet will reduce the issues.

What about when someone leaves the seat down and gets piss on it...and then leaves without cleaning it. Whoever enters that bathroom afterwards is forced to wipe the toilet seat. It's a tragic set of affairs.

this is somewhat serious matter, few people does't follow, its right to tell again and again and put some instructions boards inside toilet.
