Not liking very long flights

When I wished to travel to Australia and in the years after that New Zealand I didn't want to fly all that way without stopping off at other interesting countries. When I was 28 years old I got a return flight from London to Perth via Hong Kong on the way out and Singapore on the way home. I flew to New Zealand when I was 29 years old stopping off in California, French Polynesia, the Cook Islands and Samoa. I was so lucky to travel around the world when I was 20 to 21 years old. Which stopovers would you like to do in Asia if you fly a long way? Is there anywhere in Africa you would like to visit? Can you remember the longest flight duration you have had?

Hi Maxima, long time flight is really boring. It disturbs a lot in our daily routine life. We cannot sleep properly, other activities like taking bath, fresh up (respond to natural calls etc) are also disturbed. The specialists advices to take more water and move our legs. We need to walk. Otherwise, our legs gets inflated. Have a very nice day.

Hi my friend. It is possible to get jet lag passing through many different time zones on a long flight. I also drink lots of water and move my legs. When possible I walk down the aisle on the plane. Have a lovely day.

A seven hour flight is too long and boring. It must have been awful flying from Las Vegas to New York.

It sure was, seems like with the time you wait to take off and get off. I was on plane like 10 hours. Not my thing. I hate that.

I totally don't mind doing long haul flights without a stop but, I agree it makes sense to make the most of going somewhere for a short stop if you are going to be flying via there anyway!1 Especially f the airline you are flying with give the stop free of charge! I onced stopped in Doha for the day on the way back from Bangkok and I found that to be interesting! :)

Hi Frankie. I know that you work in the travel industry. I am delighted that you found Doha interesting for day of sightseeing before flying home. It is excellent when the airline gives you to stop free. I am glad that you don't mind long flights.

I went to South Africa in 2009 and it was in a similar time zone so I didn't have any jet lag. The time difference really gets me flying from the UK to the West Coast of America. I lost a day crossing the international date line. How weird it was to cross a day out of my diary.

I am kinda tired of flying for now. I just went on a 22 hour flight from Manila to the US, with a 10 hour layover in Malaysia. We also had a couple of minute's stop over in Japan. BUt seeing as it's only a short while, I wasn't able to sight see. I want to be able to stop over Japan again during the cherry blossoms festival and see the temples.

Hello Raine. The 22 hour flight from Manilla to the USA with a 10 hour layover in Malaysia sounded very very tiring to me. It was a long layover for waiting and not long enough for sightseeing. I am sure it would be lovely for you to visit Japan to see the cherry blossoms and temples.

The longest flight I had was from Winnipeg to Vancouver to get on the cruise ship. I would like to go to Australia and maybe New Zealand, but cannot afford that. I do not want to go to Africa nor to Asia.

My longest flights lasted 13 hours, and it was a non-stop flight from Ho Chi Minh city in Vietnam to Paris. When my friend went from Australia to Denmark her journey lasted 33 hours and included a stopover in the US. If I had to fly to Australia I would choose a stopoever in Singapore or in Hong Kong, I haven't been any of those places and it is possible to get a relatively cheap flight from Germany I choose one of those options. If I want to visit New Zealand I would do a stopover in China (Shanghai or Beijing) because I know that there are flight connections from China to New Zealand. Germany-Japan-New Zealand would also be an option but that it quite expensive so I probably wouldn't choose that option.

I am amazed your friends journey from Australia to Denmark lasted 33 hours. I think your longest flight at 13 hours was very long. I know that earlier this year you went on a return trip from Europe to Asia. You have an excellent understanding of flight routes and likely prices. Fantastic.

I moved halfway from around the world. So whenever I go back to my hometown, it takes generally anywhere from 14 to 17 hours. We just did last Christmas. As much as I like going home, I dread the flight as it just takes too long. The sweet and spicy smell of food which was so inviting in the first couple of hours into the flight, just turns really sickening at the later hours.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well that is great to hear about your trips at such an age and i think that must have helped u grow personally as well. Besides when u get to have a trip to so many places at an early age then u get a good exposure. I do like stops if it is at places worth watching. What say?

My trips developed my patience and gave me a greater amount of independence. I grew into a better person understanding other people more. I gained an ability to handle money and budget carefully.
