Fulfilling Your Dreams

As a child growing up I went through several phases of "what I want to be when I grow up." My first memories of "what I wanted to be when I grew up" is of a singer. I use to use a hairbrush as my microphone and sing into it and I was spinning around singing "Dizzy." Well that career didn't really work out to well, but I still like to sing either in the shower or at places that have karaoke. My next phase of "what I wanted to be when I grew up" was to be a teacher. I had a younger brother so I pretended to be his teacher. That career went as far as being a mother and a Direct Support Provider and a Residential Manager for mentally challenged individuals. Both those careers I taught my children and the individuals how to take care of themselves. The next phase as I'm getting older my "what I want to be when I grow up" is to be a writer. I've always wrote to express myself, but now thanks to mylot and other writing sites, my dream is coming true and I 'm getting paid to write. So add to the list of teacher and singer, I have now fulfilled my dream as a writer. Are you fulfilling your dreams of "what you want to be when you grow up?"

I am now a teacher by profession funny because when I was a kid I never dreamed of it!! i was a shy-type of girl by then so, I couldn't imagine myself teaching in front of people,,, I have always wanted to be an artist since when I was a kid, unfortunately my family cannot afford sending me to fine arts school...because of finacial problems.., now, I'm a teacher maybe this could be my way of achieving my dreams!! So, good luck to me,,,I'm already 30 but I know that doesn't matter... I'll do my best to pursue my dreams!

I remember when I was in 8th grade I went through a phase of wanting to be a truck driver- I'm talking about big tractor trailer trucks. I got over that, and then wanted to be a hair stylist, then I took secretarial courses in high school. But I ended up being a waitress for 20 years, and now I have a cleaning business. I can't even imagine being a truck driver. Mini vans seemed to big when I had those.

I have heared that every of us are born with the unique talent, those who are so happy, saticfied and successful they are those who could know what is their talent the gifted talent by God, I just wish I could be a singer I love that so much but I did not get any chances or time for fulfilling my dream, but whatever comes really from deep of our heart and thinking of that making our soul and mind so happy and satisfied is the one that God has made it for us.. I still did not find exactly what I want, sometimes I wanted to be a teacher and now I want to have a luxary beauty salon of mine.

Anything is possible, like the saying "Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars." God does have a plan for you, you just might not know it! Hope you get your luxury beauty salon of your own and thanks for sharing!

Are you remember your dreams? Are you fulfilling them? It is a popular topic from young to old. When we were in high school, we were asked if we can think of the dreams in childhood. When we are becoming adults, we always asked about the dreams in high school. One day, we when we're getting older, we will sure to answer some questions like"whats your dreams in your youth". To myself, like the poster, one my of dream was to be a writer,I've wrote to express myself and enjoy the feeling that my articles were reading by people, but I gave up wtitting-any forms of writting, even a simple summary on myself. The next phase of"what I wanted to be when I grew up" was to be a traveller, travel around my country, then travel around the world, to get new people,to meet different cultures. I will take a short trip to Tailand/Vietnam in May this year. Anyway,it is a trip for abroad!

My fervent dream was to become a doctor. I just had the fascination for that since both my uncle was a doctor and my mom was a nurse. But there were times that I also wanted to become a teacher. My brother and I never played with toys together. It was either I was his teacher or a librarian. Our games would include spelling and enrichment of vocabulary words. Not exciting, right? hahahah But it was fun for us. In high school, I found out my love for writing. But I never joined the school paper. I never thought I was good enough. i have such poor self-esteem back then. Unfortunately, none of it came true. I was supposed to take up Medicine in College but my mom discouraged me. She wanted me to take Accounting, but I just hate numbers. So, thinking of wanting to be involved with science, I took up Dentistry, instead. But just 2 years back, I was able to work as a Social Media Marketing Manager for an Australian Company. And that is when I was able to pursue my dream in writing.
