Is there Always a Taxi when You Need One in Big Cities, or Is That Just on TV?

Because I'm wanting to bring that up as a possible direction for public-transit in Oklahoma City, if that's a realistic direction to go. I mean, I guess that works out: the taxicab-company pays for the gas and the cab-maintanence (so long as the cab-driver pays a minor fee every month ... or something) and gets to keep the fare paid by passengers ... why not?

Here there are many taxis, however, they are often full in the rush hours. But at least you can still find taxi easily in another time. And the taxis are available 24 hours. This is very convenient. If you are afraid that you can't catch a taxi, then you can call the taxi company and they will arrange a taxi for you as soon as possible. You can also make a reservation in advance.

Did you mean that cab will only get to pay minor fee (for gas and maintenance) and keep the payement which gotten by customers for themselves? I think that’s a good idea for cab, they can keep more money which generated by number of customers.

Here where I live, taxis run 24-7. We have route taxis and local taxis to choose from... So yes, you can get one here anytime.
