Anyone knows what is the device police use to check whether a person is drunk?

I have seen several people blowing through some kinda machine in which if you are drunk it will beep and if you are not drunk it will not. does any of my friends know what that device is and who does it function? Expecting your answers. thank you in advancE!

Well, I am not very knowledgeable in the use of breathalyzers, so I asked a friend of mine that is more knowledgeable in this area. My friend said that some breathalyzers do beep if you are over the legal limit, but there are others that do not beep, even if the reading is way over the legal limit.

hm yea. and there is some kinda legal limit for this thing. some of the people who has responded to my discusion have posted how much it is. and i din know that there were 2 kinds of beeping htingies! that was informative thank you friend

Hi there ! Oh good to know that there is now a device for smiling a drunk police in line of duty. I din't hear about this not until now , or i am just left out with the advances of the world. This is so good for there are abusive cops nowadays reporting to duty drunk therefore he can't perform his duties well. Glad you shared this information , now i am informed.

no its is used by the police to detect whether a person is drunk or not. it works on every human being. so it can also be used on a police official too to check whether he is drunk or not. just blow on that device and it will beep if you are drunk.! lol

Yeah. It is a breathalyzer. But cops have a couple of field sobriety tests that they can give you to see if you're drunk. They might have you recite the alphabet backwards, walk a straight line, touch the tip of your nose, etc.
