Insomnia: I can't sleep

I can't sleep. Rather I chose not to yet because I wanted to reset my body clock. Lately I have been sleeping late maybe around 2 or 3 am and waking up late around 10 am to 1 pm. Sleeping and waking up at times like those made me feel that I was practically wasting precious time and I felt like I was a bum. So in order to change this routine I decided to change my body clock and not sleep until around 8 or 9 pm. I's really hard work, to tell you the truth. I get sleepy around morning or afternoon but I'm trying to stay awake to be able to change my body clock and sleep early and wake early. I don't want to feel like I waste time anymore and I might be doing more stuff if I wake up earlier than what I got used to.

May I ask why your sleeping pattern is totally disrupted? Did you travel across time zones or have been working the graveyard shift that your body clock is used to a different set up? It is indeed hard to adjust and personally, I would even get sick whenever I disrupt my normal sleeping time. You mentioned you also have insomnia, have you tried the conventional sleep inducers, like warm milk, hot showers, or melatonin tablets?

Because I usually sleep late like around past 2 am. I've tried reading a book, some supplements and the milk too and it really helped..

I get that way many nights here. So i drink a warm glass of milk, seems to relax me and I sleep. I also sometimes read 5 or 6 pages in a book, Seems to put me to sleep. Try it...

you might want to cut back on the coffee.

Are you working the night shift? That can mess up your cicada rhythm, maybe you should try taking a supplement to help you sleep, something like Melatonin, its all natural, not habit forming, only use it when you need it. I take it when I want to sleep but not feel groggy after. You could also do some calming exercises to help you sleep, yoga, ect.

No I just can't sleep because I stay up late surfing the internet. Yeah I might try using supplements. So I can get my sleeping rhythm back.
