I was a bright student from the beginning of my student life. After class ten i took up sciences as i wanted to become an engineer, i studied hard during 11th and 12th standards but couldn't get into a good college. So i decided to drop a year and study even harder, yet after an year my result was not satisfactory and i got into an average college. Where i studied for four years and even after that I didn't get a job. I feel helpless and really dejected. I really want to know somehow what was my fault in all this.

How about you try to apply in a call center. I know India like Philippines is a top player in the BPO (business process outsourcing) industry. You can use your english skills, written/spoken. After college, I got hired after failing not less than 10 interviews and exams from different employers. :-) :-) makes me laugh when I remember those days. Btw, welcome to myLot!

the same thing is true in PH. nurses, teachers, and all other professionals, they find job in bpo. in fact, most of them excel on what they do. maybe they do good at it because they do not pay attention to what people have to say about their career. if you listen to these people, you'll be discouraged. so just do what you think is right for you and don't be discouraged. we're the driver of our own lives not them.

Yes that is another field i could go to. But what you might not be knowing about is the indian society. Here people don't leave any chance of picking at others, grinding down upon them. Here people say, see that boy he said he was so passionate about becoming an engineer and now look at him he makes calls for a living. I've heard all this. And yes I,ve started doing this so that i can make some money.

Hi Jitinchawla, Welcome to Mylot!! It is not your fault that you are unable to find a job. Jobs are just so so hard to come by right now. i know so many people who share your story. They are educated and would be valuable employees and yet the jobs are just not there. I keep hearing how the unemployment rate is going down but honestly, at least in my area, what I am seeing is a ton of jobs for fast food places and things like that. And many of those are part time with minimum wage and no benefits. Keep trying and try not to get so down on yourself. Take any work you can find even if it isn't what you really want and keep your eyes open. Hopefully a job that you really want will come your way before too long. Take care and I hope to see you around here in other discussions!

hi there, as i have read your post, i cannot see a fault in this situation. i mean, maybe this is the life that has been designed for you. but, i am not saying you become more dejected. who knows, your lucky day and fortunate life is about to come. thus, be positive despite of the trials and problems, still, there are a lot of reason to show that pretty smile.

That is what I'm so shattered for. Even though I'm not at the slightest of faults still my life is a living hell, a nightmare of sorts , but in country people say whatever happens, happens for your own betterment. Guess this is what i'll have to live on for now.

This is another problem i'm facing. Currently, I have to look for any job I can get. My own priorities have already taken a back seat. So now its all about getting a job i can get paid for.

Unemployment is really really hard. Here in the Philippines. The unemployment rate goes higher every year. After graduating, I have been unemployed for 1 year, but i never stopped applying. rejections here and there didnt stop me from getting a job. just be persistent. and while your applying try looking for other opportunities as well online that could give you some money. There are so many ways in making money online, such as affiliate marketing, Freelancing, selling photos, and ofcourse Mylot :) Dont be discouraged, its ok to be rejected and its ok to fail. These are the one of the best ingredients you need for your success :)

Take not that after each failure, do self-assessment. ask yourself what you did wrong and ask yourself how you can improve yourself more so the next employer might hire you. I have also gone through many rejections and they hurt me every time.

I am trying to stay positive, but the situation i am in really doesn't give me this liberty. I have been looking online for earning methods but didn't get much out of them. Though Mylot is really great i got to express what was eating away at me and share it with other people. Thanks for your support and good wishes.

I was an average student myself and I never really had grades that could put me on the honor roll. But when I was given the chance to work I did great and I have been recognized for the effort and hard works. All it takes was the chance given. As I was given the chance before I am sure that if you keep on trying and you keep your hopes up and never give up and just continuously apply for a job you will soon see and find work suitable to you. Do not put yourself down, be confident and always project positivity in yourself.

If you have been in my situation you might be knowing how excruciating things people say when you are not able to achieve what you set out to achieve. At this point of time i'm even scared of talking to people. I hope i get the chance to prove my talent to the world before i'm completely shattered.

Maybe you are working too hard and your expectations are way higher than what you can accomplish. Be realistic. Work hard and don't always expect too much. I have experienced that too and I felt dejected. I was angry at how things turned out so unfair. But the world is never fair. Just do what is right. Do your best and keep looking for opportunities.
