There are a number of stray dogs roaming the streets of our neighbourhood. Now many years ago, a dog came to our apartment house and adopted it as his new home. He came as a fully grown dog. He became comfortable, though he was frightened of all the residents of the apartment and if he felt anyone coming close he would suddenly run away. A months later, another dog came into the apartment building and now our building compound was a house to two strays who made themselves at home here. All found them to be so cute that no one really chased them away. They would cause no harm to any one and never come to any of the landings or doors. They restricted themselves in the compound. No one of us really had to train them for this. Today one of the dogs, who had been sick for the past few days, was taken by the dog squad. I was there when they came and I asked them if they could show him to a doctor as he was sick, weak, hungry and loosing control over his nature calls. They promised to take him to the doctor today, have him treated over the next day and leave him in our compound on Monday. I suddenly missed seeing him in our parking lot near the spot where I park my vehicle. It was his habit, he would sit exactly at the spot where I would park my vehicle, and stubbornly refuse to move when I came to park the vehicle. I hope he becomes better and comes back on Monday.

I hope he does too. I know the stray dogs can be such a menace. But somehow I feel sorry for the dogs. I mean I wish no one let it animals or humans have to ever live on streets as strays.

Isn't it a great shame that there are homeless stray dogs out there, they cannot all be adopted and they can easily become sick just living out in the wild and not getting enough to eat or being chased away. Someone must have owned them at one stage, but either doesn't care about them or the dog got lost. I always get my animals from the animal sanctuary, trouble is it can be so sad, seeing all those animals wanting home and knowing you only have room to take just one in.

It is very sad. And these are those living things which actually cant let you know that they are suffering. This dog, you could just read it in his eyes. But he seems to be very sick as they havent let him out of the hospital yet.
