I remember watching her as Rhoda on the Mary Tyler Moore TV series. She was funny and fabulous. She is still fabulous as she talks about her diagnosis of terminal brain cancer. She has said that at times she is optimistic for a miracle cure but she is also very blunt in sharing that she gets down and depressed. She is quite an inspiration. I hope those facing a terminal illness can find comfort and strength. God Bless her and everyone. read more.. http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/valerie-harper-on-terminal-cancer-diagnosis-im-not-suntil-i-do-2013113

Just goes to show that cancer isn't discriminatory it affects everyone sadly, young, and old, rich and famous. I do find some actors and actresses an inspiration, for example, I suffer with clinical depression and I am reading a biography of one of my favourite actresses, now I didn't have a clue that she had suffered clinical depression for 20 years until I started to read about her life.

Yes I take anti-depressants, fortunately the ones I am on stabilize me and do not have any nasty side affects, and those that I have are only mild. Thank you.

Terribly sad news to hear - I remember Rhoda being on a lot in the late 70's.
