Do you believe in God?

I'm always curious to know if someone is religious or not, and their reasons for being such. So, do you believe in God and is religion a big and important part of your everyday life? I'm also wondering if your beliefs improve the quality of your life.

I was forced to go to church as a child. I really was not into it at all. Even as an adult I would go so my kids could make their communion and confirmation. However, I still was not so sure if there really was a God. Not until 9/11 at the age of 45 did I believe. All because as I was running down the stairs of the World Trade Center from the 91st floor, I was getting winded and my sugar level was falling fast. As I reached the 60th floor I said to myself "Oh God I don't think I'm going to make it" with that a females voice as if she was whispering in my ear said "Janet you have to get out of the building" she repeated this to me three times. Somehow I got a second wind and got out in time before it fell to the ground. As far as I'm concerned that was my guardian angel sent by God to save me. Since then I pray each and everyday thanking God for everything. Also since believing in God my life as completely gotten better and now its the best. I thought I would be working till I was 62 or 65 and now I have retired at the age of 51. I'm now living on the Island of Puerto Rico in warm weather enjoying my life each and everyday being thankful that God sent me my guardian angel to save me.

Hello Lelin I´m without words, there are events where we can face God Mercy. Your story is an amazing one. You reached my heart. I´m so happy reading you. I have an incredible story too about how God helped me survive my parents divorce. I wasn´t a believer, but God really touched my heart, soul and mind with some events. And I have a church ministry since then, 18 years ago. I´m very pleased reading you, God bless you. God is with us when we most need him. May God bless you Lelin, and the whole world... dainy

I'm not religious, but I believe in God. Religion on Earth is corruptible. Spirituality and having a personal relationship with God is not (if you aren't nuts, that is...and think God is telling you to do bad things.) Yes, it improves my life. It helps me practice gratitude for the small things. It help me keeps the big bad world in perspective. It gives me someone to cry to when no one is listening. It gives me hope, that the end of the day, someone was hiding in the shadows, manipulating the elements, and making sure I am okay. When I look at atrocities in the world -and there are too many- I sometimes sit and wonder why. Why would God allow this. But then I realize, he didn't. God gave us free-will; unfortunately, it comes at a price.

I consider your post unique. I think you are right. Religion for me is something mechanical it is like a gizmo but faith in God is something real. Totally agree with you. Observing people pretending to have faith is something unpleasant an maybe that is why you said religion is corruptible. Excuses for religious people. I emphasisize I do not treat religion as faith and faith as religion.

I am not religious person, I don't go to church that much. The last time I remember was last year, it was my niece baptismal. Whatever you call that ceremony. But I do believe in God. Religion is man made and not by God. I do respect the people who made the religion as long as their purpose is good. My connection to God is important. Well I dont know how to explain this well but no words can describe it. xx

So 'Believe in G*d, not religion.' (I do believe, but "God is a word" ... i.e. it's just a name that you might call a manifestation of G*d's glory. When I talk about G*d, I'm talking about THE WHOLE COMPANY & -not just the C.E.O.) That's what a local church-leader was gettin` at when he said 'this is not church' or something (it was a long time ago ... I wonder how he's doin`---not enough to LOOK for `im, but just kinda wonderin` ): The Word of G*d (The Bible, according to the unenlightened masses ) is the-beginning-&-end of G*d's interaction with us. Read-it-&-read-it-&-read-it again forever, and YOU WON'T CHANGE IT; but what WILL change is the size of the group hearing YOUR READINGS of The Word of G*d. But enlightened souls (being The Light as Our Brother is The Light) know that The Bible is The Former Word of G*d---that The Bible is only a pattern to follow to find The Word of G*d! MY G*D LIVES NOW-&-ONLY-NOW (EVERY-NOW-FOREVER).

Of course I do believe in God .. I'm catholic and really believe God is help us and save us from anything dangerous and save us from evil .. Sometimes there's a lot of people said believe in Him but never improve that to their life .. Trust in God means you should to be kind people, you should be care and lovely people, don't be hypocrite, love money and be like satan's followers, but everyone knows that's not easy for us .. but if you believe in GOD, God will help you too to survive from all trials :)

Yes, I believe in God. I was born a Catholic but I changed my views when I was in college, when I read the Bible. I believe the Bible more than the teachings of the Catholic Church. I don't worship images because they are just created by man. I also do not believe in sign of the cross and rosary because these things were not practiced by early Christians. I know myself that I am not a good person but I still pray everyday that I hope I can change and God will still give me the opportunity too change for the better. If there is no God, what is the point of living? How did this beautiful earth exist without a creator. I do not believe in science that earth was just created because of an accident collision of two meteors which is being stated in the Big Bang Theory. I believe that there is a higher power, an intelligent spirit who is always watching us.

I also was born Catholic and I have met people from many religions. I have Catholic friends, Protestant friends, and I do not mind if they belong to different religions. Because faith in God is more important, God is wondeful

Hi there! =) I do believe in God. I haven't seen him, his face, and what he looked like but because i believe in him... i have felt him in my heart, in my surroundings, and even in the people i have encountered with. Believing in God is not really about what your parents told you so... it is a process, a relationship and it must constantly be nurtured and nourished... by prayers, by reading his words too. God is mysterious and even if he seemed so far from us, we know if we believe in him... he is not so gar after all.

I believed in God ! He is my loving Father ! I was created in His own likeness , He sets the best example to everyone. God is our refuge and our protector . He is powerful and have tremendous love to all of us . He is a friend and a teacher. If we'll follow Him , we can never be in wrong path. He is always there for us 24/7 , He knows even before we think ! He is waiting for us , ha carries all our luggages without any complains. Let us respond and be grateful by doing all good deeds only.

The word God itself, where was this came from or how did it begun... Well others will say they made it up, but why is it that we came up with that word. I guess this make sense... All over the world before we came to this world they've been believing already that there is a Being we are serving more than the kings or leaders or high ranking people. But why now this days, man don't believe in existence of God. Its because of what the devil gave us when they tempt Adam and Eve. The "tree of knowledge". The devil said our eyes will be opened, and we will become god. How was this related to the believing that there is God. Its because of pride. Man don't believe in God because they have already the knowledge that makes them god. And they don't need the real God anymore. They think they can do anything... that is why they don't believe in God. But for us who believe it helps us from our day to day living that has an order. Non-believers will always wonder in life, always have a question in life and many more doubts in life.

Religion is playing an important role in our life so we must find the right path and follow it. How can we say that God is nothing because Who is the creator of this world. A simple machine can't run itself then how can be a world.

Yes I do believe in God. But I think that one can find something positive and exclusive in all religions and can combine these founded grains of knowledge and form his own religion. I consider that every religion is like rails and a follower is closely tied to these rails and something must do and something must not do. I think that God is not mechanical and is not excuse me like a train and loves one people and hates the other. So I try to take good things from all religions and form my own outlook.

I would say I believe in some kind of supernatural. But I feel as if it would be stupid to say, for me, that I know what this supernatural power is like. I would say I'm an agnostic. I believe that us humans could not get to know this power. That's why I don't believe in the Christian God per se, because I don't have any evidence/proof that this certain interpretation of that power exists.
