The world will be celebrating Earth Hour on Saturday, 23 March. There are many campaigns going on, most businesses will turn off the light for an hour on Saturday night. This is a good opportunity for parents to educate their kids about energy savings and also a chance to give them an experience of not using the lights for an hour. Have you celebrated the same event last year or year before? Will you be sharing this with your kids this year? The time to switch off the lights is at 8.30pm.

Well we do participate on this one since it only requires us to stop using light for an hour. We usually do that and even turn off our TV set to enhance our participation. I guess the only thing we could not do is turn off electric fan since it would be hot in our place that we could not tolerate.

Yes. I cannot turn off the fan. Many people use air conditioning over here. Sometimes I wonder how much difference will it make to switch off the lights but people are using their air conditioners. I feel that the campaign can be made better by not limiting to turning off lights.

Too bad for me here, I completely forgot about it last Saturday and I was in the kitchen doing some dish washing that when I finished my chore I realized it was already 9:30 pm and the earth hour was already done.

Accordingly, we are celebrating everyday Earth Hour. Our local area is suffering from electricity shortage which is about 14 hours. This crisis started last year so we will be celebrating this kind of phenomenon till 2016, just like the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines said.

I guess I'll be sharing it with my family since I'll be at home on the 23rd. This definitely is a great idea, and I think we should do it more often, not just once a year. This should really save the earth from all the modern technology's junk.

Take care not to trip over something. Put up some candles. Get ready some entertainment. Does playing with your phone on battery count?

Yes, earth hour is all about saving the energy to our earth power, not just saving electric bills by reducing economical cost. But is also for parents to teach their children so used what is good and to know how to save earth energy.

Hi there tehpau! i would participate in this, and we have always done so in the past as well. i think this is but a good thing that we would just not have many lights open, and no radio, tv, and no computers turned on. one hour is a big thing for all of us.

This project has become much more popular as time goes by. In fact I am a person who cares about the environment and I'd to do something to help it. However, I will not especially join this activity because it will be more like a show for me. If my lights are off, then perhaps I have to light up candles and it will be another waste. We have to save the usage of water, electricity, gas etc anytime. But we shall not especially do it in a certain of time to express that I am environmental.

Yes, my family have always participated during Earth Hour. And my kids somehow now understands the importance of that event. And I am really happy that we are able to do this even for only once in a year.

I remember we joined a fun run activity last year in celebration of the earth hour. However, this year, I was not able to register to any event regarding this thing so maybe we can just join the world in an hour. We will just turn off everything that consumes electricity in support of the event. Have a great day!

Yes I will celebrate earth Hour, I will turn off the lights, and my computer for a hours to save energy, it's only for a hour, so that means I have to turn off my heater for a hour, so my room will be cold, but I will just wrap up real good to keep warm.
