We all know how important to save money. Money is a commodity that we need in our life. With that being said, we need to ensure that we are saving our money in a right way for our future. Money can be earned by dedication and hard work but can also be easily spent if we are fond of buying things which are not really of necessity.

When I was still working, I try to save atleast 10% of my earnings. It is set aside for emergency purposes. During those times, my husband had no work. And so I have been doing it since. I just feel comfortable that there is something that I can use when something comes up. I really hate to be asking for help every time although I know that my parents would not hesitate to help, but, I'd rather solve my problems with money as long as I can.

My techniwue would usually be to replace the urge of wanting materialistic things and replace the desire with something that is actually needed so that i can strive for this better quality. in order to keep it up maybe you could try other small ways to make a little more money on the side and occupy yourself. this will more so distract you from the urges .

I won't save it anymore. I was raised that way just like many dutch people. But fact is everybody who has savings has to pay now for the poor european countries and the vats are increasing more and more. I Always saved a certain amount for all of my children. Recently I took a big part of the money I saved for my youngest two children out of the bank. I don't trust them anymore plus the interest is nihil. From now on we will spend it and travel more or do something else with it. Since our government is punishin the ones who are saving. Before I was saving the food out of my mouth literally to automatically save for the youngest two each month a certain amount plus for myself as well. These times are over. I am even considering about closing down the bankaccounts since it costs money as well. If I need to buy something I can save it in an envelop as well.

Ok. Well, first of all, I'm not living alone. I live with my parents, who don't expect me to pay for my own food, water, heat, electricity etc. Then, I always try to get a good savings deal in my bank. I'm looking for discounts. I don't go shopping with too much money on hands. I give myself a monthly budget.

I learn to be thrifty when I was young and thus able to save money. Being thrifty is not stingy but spent only on necessity. I would save it from my pocket money from my parents when I was young. As I began working, I started to save from my salary. I believe it is good to save while we could as we do not know what our future holds. I can re-invest my money to earn more profits. So to say, in investment there is money make money. However, we need to be careful to do our proper research before we invest our money. When I grow older or retired one day, I will not want to take the risk in investment but I would prefer to place it in the bank to earn fixed deposit interest. As this is more secured for me at that age.
