I like to do clutter clearing on a regular basis. The best idea is that everything is in its place and there is a place for everything. I find toys hard to keep under control. I hate sorting out paperwork. There is so much of it. At the moment I am working on clutter clearing my lounge. I like the sound of the book called "How to simplify your Life". Good luck with sorting your things.

Well i have never read this book but i am sure it must be a good book to read as it has inspired you to think something. Besides as u have mentioned something that if anything is not used for three years then it is not ours and i would like to second this as had it been ours then we would have used it at least once in a year. so may be it was belonging to someone else.

I always thought it was if you didn't use something for a year to toss it. I find three years way to long to hold on to something that is not being used. I'm terrified of clutter or God forbid becoming a hoarder. That is why I'm constantly changing my furniture around in each room and cleaning closets every 6 months to get rid of things not being used.

yes I was thinking that too but there are certain equipments being used only for special occasions so maybe the author was also reconsider some of those

I always clean my closet, dresser and cupboard every now and then. I am not the kind who keep un-used thing intact. I would rather check those things and let other people have them- to be used rather than keeping it still it is spoiled.

There have been a lot of books that I've read that have talked about getting rid of things that you are no longer using, however I really do think that waiting three years before you get rid of something is really taking things too far. I tend to think that if you go through an entire year without using something then it is time to get rid of that item. When it comes to my clothing, I'm constantly purging those things that I own that I know are really not useful to me any more.

Well, that is a good thought! And I think I ought to find that ook and give it to my sister in law. Coz she has been buying a lot of things at ebay that she has about 70 blouses that she rarely wears! On top of that she keeps a lot of pocketbooks, that when you stack them up, it would be as high as a three storey house!

ha ha I can imagine that, maybe you should encourage her also to read the book I read for sure she'll clean things out coz I'm same with her until I read the book

Sometimes, I wish to cast a spell on her so she'd stop buying things and just leave them anywhere in her house. I mean, her house is a lot nicer than mine but with all the clutter, you'd think that a hoarder lives on that house. And just imagine what signal she is sending to her kids.
