Is this guy for real? Who fantasizes about killing people? Read the latest news at this link www.foxnews.com/us/2013/04/10/at-least-14-reportedly-stabbed-on-lone-star-college-campus/ Now when I hear about fantasies, it's good things. We have snow and cold weather here, I could be fantasizing about a warm, sunny beach in Hawaii with a nice drink with an umbrella in it. I wouldn't consider killing people a fantasy! He'll probably get him a lawyer that will plead insanity for him and he'll get let off with a slap of the wrist. Of course, he was INSANE he killed people and apparently fantasized about it!!!

Well first and for most every one has their own fantasy. I am sure that the guy that shot all the people in the movie theater last year was just living out his own sick and twisted fantasy, and this guy was just living out his as well. Its not the fantasy that is wrong is the person that is actually acting on them. Most normal people have had a sick and twisted fantasy at least once in their lives they just chose to not act on them. Close to where I live a young boy drew pictures of his fantasy's and the police used those pictures to convict him of a crime that he never commited. He was recently found not guilty and the town that he lived in when it happened had to pay him 10 million dollars for a mistake that they thought his fantasy was abnormal. Not to mention many movie directors are making films from their own personal fantasy's dreams and nightmares. If if was not for people have fantasy's of killing people we would not have some of the greatest horror movies of all time as well as horror books. Just because your fantasy's are all sugar coated does not mean that the rest of the world has the same fantasy's just most of us choose to not act out our fantasy's because we know they are just that fantasy's.

But in order to act upon their fantasies, they have to fantasize about some thing. Who would even think ahead of time about killing some one? One surely knows right from wrong, whether it's fantasy or not. Thanks for responding!

There are people out there who do have what we would call, "twisted and wrong" fantasies, but perhaps to them they seem to be normal? Not everyone can distinguish between what is normal and what is not within dreams and fantasies, because quite honestly... you cannot control your dreams, nor can you control what you find appealing about certain things... like I can't control the fact that I enjoy fantasizing about having a really nice house with my current partner. The same goes for them, people will fantasize about whatever makes them feel good, and if it happens to be killing people then they become what society coins as twisted, psychopathic, etc. Your reaction to this, in my opinion, seems like you are completely appalled at the notion that people actually fantasize over these types of things, but perhaps it might be good to consider that within human beings there is not only behavioural morals, but there are also rebellious rampages, and we don't always want to go along with the norm of society... people are naturally dark... Have you ever studied Thomas Hobbes (1588-1679)? He wrote The Matter, Forme, and Power of a Common Wealth Ecclesiasticall and Civil - which is commonly referred to as the Leviathan... and in it he talks about the structure of society, legitimate government and the social contract theory. The social contract theory is the important part - for it argues that there must be a social contract between people and we must be governed by an absolute sovereign otherwise life would be "nasty, brutish and short" (Hobbes, Leviathan). Basically he states that if it weren't for civilization and a governing sovereign then every human being would live a nasty, brutal life filled with only the need and greed of pure survival, because in the essence of human beings we are nothing but animals who need to keep ourselves alive and this is our natural state - to be within perpetual war. Now the reason I bring this up is because if our natural state is to be in a life that is brutal, all about survival, and filled with the state of war - then of course people are going to fantasize about killing others and surviving or getting away with it. This is the natural state of humans, what makes us civilized is the fact that we can tell the difference between what is right and what is wrong in today's world. Maybe before a governing body, killing others was not a crime, but rather seen as survival (and I am talking like way back before there was any semblance of civilization at all)... you have to think about where we come from, where we used to be, before laws, before we became dainty, civilized folk of the modern era. We all started out as brutes, and we all have a little bit of that in us. It just so happens that some people act on it. This is appalling ONLY because in our world today, we view it as wrong. And no, I am not saying it is okay by any means, I am just stating some philosophy.

Hi ! This was very horrible way of life that they got to kill to survive . They are like Barbarians . It could never be right for it is very wrong to kill a human being . We are in stage where we know what is right and wrong , and we are lucky because we wake up being mold with all the right and just things.

Agree with Jenny , this man might have unresolved conflicts in his childhood which was not addressed. I believed any unresolved conflict we have would really comes out in our later life.

Everytime you think you've heard it all then something new comes along that people are doing or thinking.....we have a guy here in Minnesota that slashed the throats of his three little girls....then tucked them each in their own bed....can you imagine the terror they suffered having their daddy do that to them? Well now he claims he was insane.....I say he did it to spite his ex. Bunch of sicko's out there isn't there?

I saw that news on tv and I amazed to his dreamed of hitting people someday! OMG! He really insane and psychologically ill. Very indifferent people in this world. For me, don't let him be free and must bring to psychologist for treatment. His case was not ordinary attitude of well being. So good advice for treatment. :)

Fantasizing means you're really wishing it can happen, right? In that case, the man's totally having behavioral or mental issues. Wishing or fantasizing to kill someone needs a higher emotions to drive you to do it. But I have dreams of I was a killer and it usual happens after watching a horror movie. Oh wait, that's not a dream, it's a nightmare!

Actually fantasizing about killing people is very common. It's actin those fantasies out that worries people. Most people I know have done it at some point but would never actually harm a fly. Some ways are actually very creative. Take my daughter who writes poetry, she killed everyone off one day but yet she let a canary live to sing. I told her she should have killed the canary too.
