Well, I went to the beauty salon for manicure and pedicure but was advised to give my nails a rest this week as my nails are not in its natural color anymore because of nail polish which always covers my nails for a long time now. After my nails are cleaned, the nails clipped and the cuticles removed, the nail technician or manicurist advised me to forgo having my nails colored this week. She said I need to let the nails rest so they will return to their natural state. So now I only have clean fingernails, no cuticles and nicely clipped but no color. I am giving my nails a break this week. Have you ever been advised to do this?

Nope, because I have seen my friend who's gotten her nails in such a bad state that it really scared me. I asked my manicurist what I can do to prevent from having discolored and unhealthy looking nails. She did say that give at least a week of rest from all the nail polish and just let the natural oil and color of my cuticles coat again my nails. Like this week, I am planning to give my nails a rest until next week before I put on some nail polish again. It also helps if you moisturize them with argan oil.

yes, that can cause discoloration to the nails if we always have nail polish on it. i have never been advised that but that would be good because i can also see that when i stopped applying nail polish on my nails, it goes back to its natural state and color. so just give it a break. that's truly a good thing and advice for you and your nails.

I have decided to have nail polish every other week, like this week no nail polish, next week will be with nail color, then the week after no color again, etc.

hi cutie no bgut I have diab tes and after seeing fellow friends with diabetes and infections from cuticles that were improperly clipped and torn I just go without manicures as I do not want to got through what they went through. WE have to be doubly careful not to get cuts or wounds as on use they heal too slowly.

Oh. You need to have a very good manicurist if that is the case. I also do not want to get cuts so I always remind the lady handling me to do it slowly when removing cuticles.

I was thinking you may have gotten your manicure and pedicure done already . Anyway, it is good to give your nails some rest and not overdressed them . I can't do anything to my nail except to keep it short all the time. In fact, I do not have a nice nails

Yeah, no nail color for me this week, but I don't mind that really. What is important is the removal of the cuticles and the cutting of the nails. it's the salon that does all these for me.

Hi. I love putting nail polish. It's my hobby. Before, I used to change my nail polish everyday. But a year ago, I just noticed that my nails are getting yellowish and I was worried because it's not the normal color of our nails right? So I went to my friend and asked her if she experienced the same since she also love putting nail polish. And she told me that the reason why my nails are getting yellowish is because of nail polish. Nail polish makes our nails damaged especially when we used those cheap nail polishes that can be bought in sidewalks. So since then, I always make sure that I purchased nail polishes with a trusted brand and I only changes it once in a week. Or if I changed it within a week, I make sure to put colorless nail polish as the base before I put colored nail polish. You can try it..It helps our nail healthy though you put nail polish.. :-)
