Summer clothes :)

Philippines

Does anybody else here in myLot think that this summer is exaggerating? In the Philippines, there have been recorded temperatures that reach up to 38 degrees-Celsius. That's like my kids temperature when they get fever. It gets super hot this days that I have started putting all my t-shirts and pajamas in the storage box, and then I brought all those old shorts and tank tops I've kept for long. How about you? Do you still wear your pants and t-shirts?

This is a fun and friendly site to interact with people from all over the world through discussions. You will make friends, learn, and earn at the same time here. Go ahead and participate more on discussions; either start one yourself and comment back to all your responders, or you can respond/comment on those started by others like this. Does it really get to minus 30 degrees Celcius where you are? You probably live in some very high altitude place, aren't you?

well i have no choice but to still use my pants and long sleeved shirts as i go to the office everyday! how i wish i could go here in a sundress or a tank top! lol but at home i do use just tank tops and shorts.. and drink plenty of water as it is highly needed now!

That's true. Everybody has to drink lots of water and other fluids now that the season is so hot. I hate how summer brings in a lot of illness. My kids start having prickly heat. :(

oh they should be taking a bath frequently then if not use powder that is talc in form too and water should be on hand right away..

You're right. My kids take a bath twice everyday because they complain so much about these hot days. Good thing there's a special powder for prickely heat in the market so it doesn't worsen.

hi there, at some point, i still keep wearing pajama in the evening, as the occurrence of some mosquito are seen here in our home. and i don't want to be bitten by those insects. in this regard, i choose to wear thin-fabric type pajama so i won't be bitten by mosquito. though i choose to wear thin sleeveless to make me feel comfortable.

We have mosquitoes here, too. I take extra caution with them because I have two kids and I'm so paranoid about dengue. I still dress my kids in pajamas at night even when it's so hot. I just make sure I gave them a quick bath so they will have a good sleep on these hot nights.

Yeah, in other parts of the country, the temperature is even hotter.. I think the temperature is hottest in Manila, or in some parts of it. here in Cebu it is also hot, but i guess it is bearable when it's not from 9 am-4 pm... We just drink lots of water and bathe many times to keep ourselves fresh.
• Philippines
25 Apr 13
Yeah, i feel that too. even if we are just in the house and doing nothing at all, i still feel the heat. So what i do is take a bath at least twice a day.. sometimes it is not even enough. I hope summer will be over soon.

I believe that the temperature in Manila is the same as here in Batangas City. It's so hot I feel like consistently being fried. :(

yeah, it has been very hot these past few months.. even the Ber months were not that cold. I guess this is Global Warming. I hate it, it makes me lazy to even go out of the house since the sun will burn me- literally. I'm like a vampire..

It's really impossible to go out on these insanely hot days. I guess everybody feels like a vampire.

in my place, the weather is also very hot,the temperature here reachs up to 26 degrees-celsius.maybe you think it is not very hot.but it is just spring, the normal temperatures should be fluctuated at 20.we are in summer in advance.i only wear my new coat just one time and have to put it in my storage box.today i am in short t-shirt and short pants, and feel very cool.

I wish we had spring, too. All we have here in the Philippines is the dry and wet season. So we just have to endure this heat and do our best to make ourselves comfortable. But it could be really hot. Like today. :(

While at home, I wore sleeveless and shorts. It's too hot and taking a bath twice a day is not even enough. Thanks that we don't have water shortage or else...I will surely go insane

It would really be ideal if I could also take bath before I sleep at night, but it's too bad because I can't. :( I have low blood so I just do half-baths at night. It's so hot in the Philippines. Specially here in our town, Batangas City.

Hello Lizziegee, Weather in North reaches its peak in winters it is too cold and in summers itis too hot. In hot weather, to overcome heat I prefer only cotton clothes that too thin ones.As I work in a government office, I hv to dress up in our traditional salwar suit attire and in the mid February I start making round of cloth shops to look for pure cotton clothes and then get the same stitched so that they are ready to be worn by mid April - peak summer season starts from mid-April only.

Cotton clothes are the best bets this season. My kids are always dressed in cotton. But I still have to change their clothes at least thrice a day because they sweat so much.

Its too hot in India too and hence its frustrating to get out for some work in afternoon. Now i am on holidays but while i am sailing ,then also i have to face intense heat in Engine room.So i am habitual of it now. Anyways those clothes you mentioned are best for summer.Best wishes.

Yes, I agree that shorts are best in summer. Sleeved shirts and pants are such a chore to wear, I sweat so much in them.

Yes, it is too hot this days but I still need to wear our office uniform. But at home, if it is possible I just wear undies The temperature nowadays is so high that I am no longer comfortable wearing even my shorts at home.
• Philippines
22 Apr 13
Right! I wish I were alone at home so I could just wear my undies, too. But I have to dress up in shorts because I have my kids and mom at home with me. Super hot! The fan isn't so much of help.

Well, even though where I come from the climate is now starting to do some good days, my clothing I use to go out, is still in autumn style. Okay, I dress lighter than winter days, do not bring more scarf and hat, but above always dress with a jacket very heavy. I'm happy now that the climate is greatly improved but be too light, at least for the month of April, I still can not.
• Philippines

Good for you. I will still have to endure this heat for a month or more.

yes, the weather and temperature here nowadays is really hot. even if its just early in the morning the heat seems like it is 1 or 2 in the afternoon. that is really hot, we can feel on our skin, it's like we are being fried or something...
• Philippines
16 Apr 13
I agree with the feeling of being fried. Everybody needs to take a bath more than once because it could get you sick in no time, specially the little ones.

It is supposed to be the middle of Fall or Autumn here by now, but it still feels like summer has never left at all. There were some extremely hot days around low 40 Celcius at the heights of summer up until about a couple of months ago. Now I am just wondering if there will be some extremely cold days this coming winter too.

Climate change becomes so evident nowadays, what with all these extreme weather conditions. It's super hot, I feel bad for my kids who can't sleep well and have afternoon naps because they sweat so much. :(
17 Apr 13
Yes, I agree with you. Especially by noon time, I'm totally freaking out!
• Philippines
22 Apr 13
I'm so thankful I don't need to go out of the house very often because it gets really impossible, specially at noon time like you said. It's too hot I feel like being fried.

It's been great to see summer is coming but i can't really bear the hotness.I feel really not well about it.So this is also what i'm concerning, lol.Anyway, get ready by that and hope you have a nice day.Remember to make yourself comfortable going out.

Right! I used to be so lazy about bringing umbrellas when it's hot, but now I do. It's so unbearable.

I prefer to wear a pyjama and a light shirt during summer. And when I have to go somewhere out, I wear pyjama and kurta. Now the temperature in our town is reaching 40 C, and there is no question of putting on pant and shirt now. Going out in the noon is impossible.Although we have got a little respite after the rain, but it is not sufficient.
• Philippines
16 Apr 13
Wow. 40 C. I can imagine how hot that could be. It really is no good to go out when the sun is high. My cousins go to the mall but I don't. Yes, it's colder there because of the AC system, but when you get out and go home, you get exposed to the impossible heat again. I prefer to stay indoors instead. Good day!

i totally agree. the climate has really changed. i remembered when i was a kid, summer would be very fun. because summer activities would include playing outside under the sun. and that time, it isn't as hot as it is now. i can really notice, you would seldom see kids outside playing if the sun under the sun.

No! :) I usually tank tops, shorts and dresses. As much as possible, I avoid wearing black or any dark-colored shirts since it adds up to the heat. And I usually buy clothes that are cotton made :) Whenever I'm in the house, which I am most of the time, I wear sleeveless top and shorts or anything that is comfortable to wear :)

The temperature is no better here in Kuala Lumpur. I have stopped wearing jeans many years ago. It just doesn't work in our climate. Yes I still wear pants and t-shirts, I stick to light weight cotton or linen clothing.

I don't remember having a temperature like this when I was younger. Climate change, probably. I don't even wear pants when I go out. My legs sweat a lot so I wear shorts and t-shirts. :)
