Tracy McGrady joins Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs gave their playoff push an added boost by getting two-time league scoring champ Tracy McGrady for the rest of the NBA season. The Spurs have this trend of getting players when they are already older and are veterans. What do you think about this move?

I was shocked to see he is only 33. I think of him as being around forever. But when I saw on ESPN that he was just 33 I thought how the heck did he end up in China so young? Since that was the last place he played and all. I think they got him for back up and they are hoping they won't need to use him! It's a shame his career never got as big as his potential was thought to be.

If he can stay healthy, I suspect his NBA career is far from over. I think he'll play well for the Spurs and if they don't want to keep him next year someone else will want him.

It is because of injuries that he wasn't consistent and as great as other players are now. If he can stay healthy for the rest of his career he'll have a chance to win a championship.

playoff teams are trying to reinforce their line-up for the important part of the season. the playoff season is the most exciting part of the season. tracy mcgrady can still score if he wants to. but of course, he may be a step slower than before. but he brings the experience and maturity in the spurs team.

If I had to pick a team most ripe for being upset in the playoffs, I would pick the Spurs. I think the Lakers will take them. McGrady is a wildcard though. He might be able to give them enough magic to swing the series in their favor.

Yeah. The spurs are going to face the lakers and I think they will have a hard time against the Lakers. Kobe is not there in the lineup and I think T-mac can take advantage of it. Lakers will win though.

McGrady is a good additional to the team. San antonio has been always an offense team. So an offensive player like McGrady would be a great opportunity for them. Hopefully they will come to the finals and become the champion the champion again. Always been a San Antonio Spurs since Duncan join the team..

I think he is aware of it. He's really now getting shape after from his injuries. He will be a great impact on the finals. I really hope San Antonio Spurs will win this cup.
About his jersey, any number will do as long as he plays well and contribute to the team.

I think this is an intelligent move by the Spurs. From there play of late it's obvious they need some kind of a boost going into the playoffs. McGrady brings a lot of offensive skill to the table and might be able to provide the spark they need. We'll see. I like McGrady as a player but I'm not a San Antonio fan.

Yeah. It's good. The spurs have this tendency to get players that are good but older and veterans. Maybe they can think of getting Iverson.

McGady played games in Qingdao City that is very near to me this season,so I have watched a lot of his games .I think joining the Spurs is a win-win.Spurs needs his playoff experience,and McGady can fight for his champion.Next year I don't think Spurs will be as strong as this year.So I wish McGrady can take his chance to help Spurs to reach champion,as he said today,"this is my best oppotunity in my whole basketball career".Just go!McGady!
