I HATE my allergies!!!

It just seems to get worse and worse every year. I have bad hay fever, but since I don't have a news station that shares the pollen count anymore, I don't know what triggers it. I know fresh cut grass forces me back inside, but it never bothered me as a kid. Dust sends me into sneezing fits, and lets just say that my nose can detect mold easily. I'm forced to take allergy pills every day, and sometimes the last four hours or so of my 24-hour hour pill starts wearing off, like now. My doctor said it was okay for me to take a four-hour antihistamine pill, and this morning is no exception. Now it appears that I'm allergic to things that never bothered me before. My boyfriend has a dog but he doesn't really take care of it. He's left that up to me. I'm trying to housebreak the dog, but it requires that both of us are on board. And he most definitely is not! I don't really like the dog that much-he pees and poops in the house, requiring me to shampoo the carpets constantly; he doesn't walk with me but instead pulls me along; and he's bitten me several times! And telling my boyfriend that he needs to go out lands on deaf ears-he expects me to take the mutt out all the time! I have enough problems walking due to my MS; some days it's hard for me to walk. And now it appears that the urine smell is in the carpet-I just shampooed with the steam vacuum three days ago-and it reeks! I wasn't raised like this, nor was it acceptable for any of my pets to behave like this. Now it's a severe problem involving my health-and I can't make this man understand that I will not live like this much longer!! Does anyone else find that their allergies are getting worse this year? Do you take medicine for it?

i've had allergies for years but not as bad as yours. i take antihistamines when they get really bad. pollen if the culprit for me and i have a hard time during spring. however, dogs also make me sneeze. it's not their fur, it's their smell! why don't you put the dog outside? if not, tell your bf you can't live with it any longer. it's a choice between you and the dog. you cannot suffer just because he has a dog that he doesn't even look after. you have to take care of yourself first.

I've been threatening to take the dog back to the pound, but if I do hat, I had be better heading out of town! We cannot allow our dog to stay outside all night either; we rent and the town doesn't allow it. I have a unique problem-I am not working and have no income BUT I do have a plan. I'm am seriously considering leaving-he takes me for granted all the time and expects me to take care of him like a little boy. Once I start working, I plan to stash money away and leave. I'm so sick of barely being able to breath anymore and not even pet kennels smell bad like this! So tacky and gross!

dagami is right, it is the dog or you.....he HAS to choose! You have already put up with too much, you are TOO kind, generous and tolerant and he is taking advantage of you. The town doesn't allow a dog to be outside? O M G! Our dog has lived outside his whole life and has never been in a house ever and never will be. They are designed for it. I'd be wanting to get outta that town, too. And if you do start stashing money away, don't cave (like you do) and tell him or use it for something else. You are on a mission to get outta there...ASAP! You hear me? YOU need it and for once, YOU have to come first.

I totally agree you. Man always take women's love for granted...It is unfair,in your example, the dog is his not yours. Why should you take responsibility for this.Leave the mess with your boyfriends. Then he will know how important you are and appreciate what you have done for him. If he doesn't know how to appreciate, that means he is selfish and deserve nothing!

hi scorpiobabes I think the worst allergy you have is that inconsiderate boy friend so since you cannot take a pill for him I suggest kicking him out as he does nothing to really help you.The pollen season is the worst this year. I take benadryl every night twice just so I can sleep .I am allergic to dust and dust mites. I take benadryl twice every night so I can slleep without sneezing or having my nose close up .

I wouldn't kick him out, I'd leave myself! Problem is that I don't have a job or car of my own now but I did submit my application with an upscale, nationwide temporary agency; I'll be calling around 1:00 to go over what I submitted for a résumé, and hopefully they'll have a job to start me out. I am seriously considering leaving here-I hate the town and state, but I need to take certain steps first before I can consider moving. Getting a job to take care of my bills is first on my agenda, and today I've made the first step.

Very simple, get rid of the dog and the carpets, down to the tile or hardwood, and they can be easily mopped. It will get rid of many dust and allergens as carpets hold them and it is almost impossible to remove urine from a dog smelling it in a carpet, so they will continue to 'go' there, even when you can't smell it.

If we lived in our own home, taking out the carpet wouldn't be such a problem but we rent. Jim has a deviated septum and thinks I'm exaggerating but it was like this at his home before-and he wouldn't let me take out the carpets there either! I think he lives in la-la land, especially if he thinks it's okay to live like this. That's another reason I'm not marrying him.

I also been experiencing allergy on my own. I have a skin allergy. It occurs everytime I drink a lot of sugar, or consumes a lot of sugar. Sometimes when I eat too much rice with fatty foods or dried fish. It will surely occur after I eat the following. It's been a big problem for me especially I love to it. I need to lessen my sugar in-take more. In order to be back to normal sugar level and keep myself healthy.

It could be the type of sugar you're consuming to. If you're 'drinking' your sugar, it could be a drink with high fructose corn syrup-and that is bad. It's usually found in soda. Refined sugar is usually found in prepared foods or candy. Talk to your doctor for suggestions to begin cutting it out of your diet. Good luck!

Mine is such a combination of problems-my dad used to have such bad allergies as a kid, he told me about having to get shots on a weekly basis! My whole life, I watched him struggle with post nasal drip that would become so severe that he had to sleep upright or start choking. I don't think you have it much better with itchy, irritated skin-that would drive me crazy! It's 4:00 AM here-and my allergies won't let me go back to sleep. I guess I'll go take a different medicine to get some sleep for a few hours.

I could avoid them , but it would require me to live in a glass room or a bubble-I don't think that's reasonable. But right now, the biggest problem in the dog-I'm allergic to pet dander, and Yoda is constantly licking/biting himself!

Oh i can imagine how disturbing were those allergies for you. Dogs pees poops can worsen your allergies . Better place them in a dog house , this can help from those allergies . I have a dust allergies and strong fumes allergies but when it is yet about to start , i then drink anti histamines . If sneezing won't stop best remedy for me is to avoid those that causes then bring myself to bed rest. When i woke up , allergies gone then. Be patient , all will be gone when the season changes again.

I have allergies to so many different things that I'm sick nearly year round now. I take 24-hour pills that usually are good for nearly that time, but I'll pop a 4-hour antihistamine tablet if they get bad. As for the dog, we rent, so putting him in a dog house wouldn't work; right now, I'm constantly vacuuming or shampooing the carpets! Thanks for the suggestions!
