Do you know AKB48? Named after Akihabara, an area in Tokyo. Its a Popular group of japanese girls with a large of 87 members and holds its Guinese records. Producer Yasushi Akimoto decided to create an idol group that can meet up, interact with fans and perform live. Theyre music style is bubbly pop, which is really popular in japan.Theyre popularity expose on media, tv shows, and many other promotional activities. There are also controversies that been part of this industry. but still remains as a whole. I would like to go to Japan someday, and have an experience with akb48!

First time I hear about them. So, they are a musical group? They have 87 girls in the band, and is that why they hold the world's record for the most number of member?

yup,since 2005 they become more popular because of media and outside country performances. each team has 20 members atleast. Team A, B, C.. so theyre group into teams.

I love akb48 since 2011. I may not remember all their names but I love Mariko Shinoda, Atsuko Maeda and even their sister groups.

I was a pretty big fan of AKB48. I'm not so into them any more since all my favorite members left and they got boring. They're still pretty popular though. I love watching their variety shows.
