The Mylot features should not like twitter. It must be something different from what twitter has, so people would like to join mylot because of the unique features.

MyLot is actually nothing like Twitter. Just because it has a similar colour scheme and a menu bar which looks familiar, doesn't mean that it behaves like Twitter at all. In fact there are several sites with a fairly similar look - LinkedIn is one of them: MyLot's unique features are: 1) Quite obviously, it allows far more than 140 characters 2) It is a discussion and question and answer site. Twitter does NOT have a responses and comments structure and you cannot 'discuss' things on Twitter. 3) Although it borrows the 'Followed' and 'Following' terminology from Twitter, it works in quite a different way and also allows Private Messaging. 4) MyLot is a good platform for actually providing information and talking about something one is promoting. Very few other sites, if any, allow or encourage that in the way that MyLot does. 5) MyLot is strongly moderated and 'flaming', bad language and spam are quickly removed. It is one of the very few public communities which can be relied upon for its lack of flaming and the general helpfulness of its members.
