The best way is to take part in other people's discussions and post something worthwhile which will increase your reputation and help people know what kind of person you are. Follow people yourself, interact with them and they will follow you back, if they think it worth it.

The topic is very important, it must attract lots of people, if the topic is not common, like share a song or star which are not popular , then it is hard to get more comment or feedback.
