a=b
a2=ab
a2-b2=ab-b2
(a+b)(a-b)=b(a-b)
a+b=b(a-b)/(a-b)
a+b=b
misal a=b=1,
a+b=b
1+1=1
2=1 ????
a2 is a square

The anomaly arises because the expression (a+b)(a-b) = b(a-b) resolves to 0=0 and, in the next line, you attempt to equate a+b with an expression which has no meaningful value ... 0 divided by 0 ... so any further deductions are meaningless.
