This topic has nothing to do with offence or sensitivity, just for discussion and gaining in knowledge. Religious tradition in our country has been declining since 1950s. Buddism and Taoism, the two mainstream religions on mainland, are now worshiped only by limited groups of people. Most people here are atheists or semi-pantheists. People nowadays care more about money, house, and secular happiness. They know less and less about the religous habits, especially young people and kids. Is religious tradition still being put into practice among young people and kids in Britain and in the US? Are those religious rites, such as Mass, baptism, still holding in your place and community? How and to what extent do young people and children participate religionary activities today? No responses...is this topic reluctant for people to discuss?

Is religious tradition still being put into practice among young people and kids in Britain and in the US? I don't know about Britain. As I have never been there. But many children in the US practice religious tradition. Are those religious rites, such as Mass, baptism, still holding in your place and community? Yes, the churches are full and abounding with traditional religious rites. All of my kids have been baptized. How and to what extent do young people and children participate religionary activities today? Many children prefer to make friends and do activities through the church. The more active their parents are at the church, the more active the children are.

I see all of the things you said happening in my community. There are several churches (a couple of new builds) in my area that attract families, children included but over the years many churches have closed. I am not sure of statistics but many people seem either too busy for religion or need it for support. Belief is another question and that is difficult to define.

Our community is very religious. They are mostly Mormons but there are a few other churches here but their congregations are very small. We have Catholics, Baptist, Lutheran, Pentecostal and I think Episcopalian. Maybe 25% could be called non-religious.
