Is “trend-setter” a person who leads the trend?

I read this on papers:"a trend-setter in Hollywood". what's the meaning of "setter"?

If a famous person wears some type of clothing, does some action or eats at some restaurant, and people who see them do that start doing the same thing; the celebrity is a trend-setter.

A trendsetter is someone who starts a trend or makes it popular. In this case the meaning of setter would be: one who sets : A trendsetter sets trends.
