It depends on the society and culture. In some places they are accepted, in others they are frowned upon, persecuted, criminalised and hated. Homosexuality is NOT a matter of choice; it is the way that a person is, probably from birth. It cannot therefore be said to be 'wrong' or 'deviant'. If a person is gay, it doesn't make them any less of a person or less part of God's creation and God does not love them any less than anybody else because of it. If a person is gay, it makes no difference to their ability to work and be a useful and valued member of society and they are certainly no more of a 'danger to society' than anyone else. It is therefore completely illogical to make homosexuality illegal or to exclude gay people from Church or any other part of society.
