Not exactly. Our relationship with God is the power; prayer is just communication with Him. Communication is the best ACCESS to power. God has the power & gives it as He sees fit. (And no, prayer IS NOT what gets Him to give us power; it is merely acknowledging that He is the source of all our power & thanking Him for knowing how it should be used!)
