Are we becoming our own gods?

Thoughts I have been having lately about evolution.
In his 1859 book "On the Origin of Species", Charles Darwin has established the theory of evolution, where what he described as "the s...

Evolution is a process that can not stop. Even at present we are passing through a revolutionary evolution in science. Thanks.

Where did you get that 'sperm can be used for eggs & eggs for sperm?'

Scientists in Japan managed to make a sperm behave like an egg and allow itself to be fertilized by another sperm in mice. There is also the possibility of using any cell in the body, turn it into a male or female reproductive cell, opening new avenues for LGBT people to procreate for example. I read it in various newspapers like The Guardian and The Times in the UK which are serious and reliable. Look for this online.

@the_lioness THE INDEPENDENT reports that Kyoto University has used mice's Primordial Germ Cells to make "sperm act like eggs and eggs act like sperm." But humans' repro-cells are more-complex. The scientists are gonna TRY with primate PGCs, but--even if they squeak through to work with humans--the newborns will be too mutated to be 'human' for the first few gernerations! And anyway, it reminds me of a Christian-Joke: Humanity's scientists discovered the God Particle and everything that convinced them that they didn't need God anymore, and they told Him, "We can construct the bodies of all humans and all life from a pile of dirt, just like you!" "Oh really?" He responds. " ... Make your own dirt!" All that those scientists are doing is rearranging the dirt, not 'creating' anything!
New research from Japan has suggested that it may be possible in the future for scientists to grow male and female reproductive cells from the opposite gender. In other words, to create sperm from women and eggs from men.

@mythociate The point I was trying to make wasn't about scientists 'creating' life or 're-arranging' dirt or whatever. It is about us being able to affect our own evolution through science among other things, which may then allow a person to procreate with another person of the same gender for example. I don't know if it's your intention but don't even *dream* of dragging me into an argument about whether God exists or not. My post wasn't about that at all.

evolution is a natural process, though slow and it never stops.

Perhaps we are, but it would have to be through magical powers that we can reach that greatness !
