I Know I'm Not the First One to Wonder This, but ... Where's My Global Warming!?

I know that 'New York this week' is just another "abnormality" of temperatures that seem to contradict the "Global Warming" the media's been trying to convince us of (or something else http://www.vosizneias.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Winter-Weather-Pennsy_sham-725x523.jpg Hot Air says the media's been telling us), but
Remind me how they "prove" that Global Warming is 'something real'?

I thought our winters would be warmer because of global warming and in our area it is warmer. We had a down pour yesterday in Pocatello where as in the past it would have snowed 14 inches of snow with that much moisture. My town is higher so we got a blizzard. I think that what ever makes the summers warmer would make the winters colder.
