Preparing a craft room

So, now that we've evicted that bad, childish, brat of a roommate, I'm going to turn her room into a beading room. I have, literally, over a hundred pieces of jewelry that I have made, that I want to sell. Now, when she moved in we painted the room green with yellow (gold) trim. That has got to go! I need white to make sure my colors are good. So, today I watched a vid on Martha Stewart's site about painting... Well, I'm not going to "cut in" with a brush... there are some GREAT cutting in tools out there. Honestly, the trim is going to be white too, so I'm not really too worried about getting paint on the trim, or the ceiling, since its already white... well, mostly white... Now, I just need to buy the paint, those tools, a few brushes - for the trim - and a paint roller, since I have no idea what the roomie's nephew has done with the other ones. I do have a nice paint tray and liners. But, today is cat box day, and so I'm going to be working on that! Tomorrow I need to go to the Social Security office and see what I need to do to start getting social security at 62 (less than 5 months from now!) I hope you guys are not too busy, getting hurt doing stuff, I'll probably be in pain by the weekend!

Howdy! I'm back! I hope your painting job goes smoothly with no hitches. I always run into something or other that slows me down (like bumping my behind against a freshly-painted wall or dropping the paintbrush on carpet) so it's not a chore I look forward to, although I'll have my share of painting soon.

@mentalward - well, one thing on my side is that there IS no carpet to get paint on, no carpet in the house at all! I've also done pretty well to avoid close encounters with painted walls.

Hi Elic - my first thing to do as I check out myLot. I do all my projects in the living room at the dining table. It's at the centre of everything and works best for me.

Well, I have 6 cats that can get in the front room with me, and with cats in the room its rather hard to do beading projects... they are a bit tooooooo much help!

@ElicBxn Gosh, that's 6 times the problem I have. He likes to get up close and personal at several times of the day and it can be such a pain as you must know yourself.

@MsTickle and that's only the six that get in the front room, doesn't count the rest that run in if they see the door open!

hmmmm, green with gold trim.. I think I'd have to change that too! Have fun with the beading! Sounds like you are doing a good job with them! Hope you find a good outlet for selling.. Etsy? maybe.. Or ebay?

I´m so happy to see you again, friend! I´m sure that all will be fine. Maybe you should take some pictures about before and after to show us. Remember about taking breaks once in a while.

She didn't think she should do housework, she would start fights just for the "fun" of it, at first she would suddenly decide that she needed to go to the ER. We did break her of that habit. Told her that neither of the things she went for were things that HAD to go to the ER. So, we don't have her in our home anymore and she's back being a brat with another member of her family.

@changjiangzhibin89 - not moody, but very difficult. She hadn't been here a week and she was on the phone with some friend lying about the house. She hadn't been in her new place when she was on the phone to her uncle lying about her cousin. And she was lying about him because he was making her do the work of unpacking. He had been over there for 4 or 5 hours every day, but he wasn't doing it for her.

Good luck with your project. As you're fixing the room up just think you are getting rid of the bratty roommate vibes. Hopefully it'll take your mind off any pain.

Oh, believe me, the house is already so much calmer without her. Knowing that she won't be coming through that door and starting a fight for "stimulation."

I can only say that being rid of that roommate has really improved the household!
