Remind Me Exactly What Christianity's Problem-with-Homosexual-Marriage Is?

I mean, I know there are nosamesexmarriage.com/marriage/bible_verses.php one-or-two Old Testament- & 'after Gospel' New Testament-references against it; but I don't see how it relates to 'being children of God' or 'being saved in the Name of ... the Blood that Washes in the Fire ..." The page (at the link above) states that Alabama's founding fathers wrote a bunch of anti-homosexual laws against homosexuality, and it (NSSM) asks, "Is the human reasoning put forth by the liberal newspapers wiser than the wisdom of our forefathers?" NSSM probably means to paint the 'wisdom of our forefathers' as "scientific fact" compared to the current 'human reasoning'; so I feel compelled to remind NSSM that 'our forefathers' were also using 'human reasoning' and that their reasoning was probably less-evolved than our current reasoning. Their reasoning probably included the idea that "The Holy Bible" was inscribed-by-lightning on the tablets of mountain-rock that the Heston-like prophets carried down from their meditations up there. Current reasoning deals with different facts: that The Holy Bible is a collection of 'royalty-selected theological scholar'-approved texts meant to convince people that they exist to unquestioningly-obey their circumstancial government-leaders. I know that The Gospel's democracy-supporting message (that we ARE the leaders so long as we follow Jesus's teachings) seems to go against that---maybe that's the Holy Bible's way of keeping 'leaders who want to STAY leaders' obedient (by putting conditions on their leadership ... as said in the Declaration of Independence: "When ... it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them"). But I'm not even seeing what THAT has to do with "legalizing a different type of marriage"; are you?

My country will never accept it because it's dominated by christians, mostly catholics and most even our politicians are Hippocrates when it comes to issues such as this. prankly, majority remains dictated by the church even though it's supposed to be separate from the government or it's people's political interest.

@mythociate God is control of everything except the choices we make... and i also believe that God already knows what each of us is going to do...even before we were born.

God said marriage was between one man and one woman, When you ok any other kind of marriage you are going against God.. If you die in your sin...you will go to hell. Homosexuality is wrong....It is a sin.... Satan tries to destroy anything that is of God....and destroying what God considers marriage is what satan is doing....and just look at the amount of people that are accepting it...The path to destruction is wide and many will be on it.....

@mythociate ..We are all born with the sin nature....Every one of us. and no Sin is greater than another one.. Everyone of us Sins....When you are born again you turn your back on that Sin and with Gods help you overcome it.... The thing with the Homosexual movement they make excuses for living with their sin, they do not repent and turn from it...and if they continue living with their Sin thinking it is ok are they truly Saved... If they have God in them how can they not see that it is going against Gods word.. Everyone of us that is saved fights everyday to overcome the sin in our lives...With Gods help...God loves us all, and will forgive us all. God tells us to repent and turn from it..not make excuses to live with it...

@dlr297 I disagree; not 'that righteous people fight against their sin' or 'that they USE God's & godly Men's-examples to help them,' but that God himself helps. In the same Book where he 'defined' marriage (were YOU there? did YOU hear the words coming out of his mind/mouth/word-spigot?), he gave MAN dominion over the Earth. Sinning is--according to 'the Bible'--man's choice. But we're talking about "the real world."

What about those who say we are born-gay or -straight? Are Christians who believe they were 'born gay' still 'Christian' if they believe that "gay" is 'how God sewed them together in the womb'?
