Your team choice Should be for life!

If you are a true sports fan your team is a key part of your being. I once said you can divorce your spouse but not your team. Til death do you part. Through good seasons and bad. Injuries and great health. A good draft a bad draft. How about you? Do you agree with me?

Horses doesn't count. They are not a team. I have my favorite teams too. Most I have had for at least 20 years now! Some conflict but i love them just the same.

@sarahruthbeth22 Excuse me, but horses DO count...owners, trainers, jockeys, grooms.....the team list goes on...but then I guess I'm prejudiced as I am a HUGE horse racing fan! lol

@sparkofinsanity i meant they don't play each other like football. EAch horse only runs a few times not for decades.in that way they don't count as a lifelong team.

I agree fully with you. Supporting a team means the team is a part of your family. You would stick with them in good times or bad. You would cry with them when they lose. You would laugh justifiably when they win because you were with them when they lost. I am proud to say that I have been with my team for 37 years. It is going to be another 50 years if I could just stick that long.

Well, I am no sports fan but I will agree with this. We do feel strong about some things in our life. And it don't have to be a team. It could be anything.

I definitely agree with you; once you become a fan of a sports team it is part of your daily and you stick to it for better and for worse. You live the intense feelings of joy caused by your team's victories as well as the disappointment of a defeat, but you never stop supporting the team you love if you are a true fan!

My sons tell me I'm not a true fan - I tend to side with which ever is the champion...

I agree. all the teams I root for have ben champions at least once but that wasn't what made me a fan. it was a key player(s). then i got to know the rest of the players and i remained loyal through thick and thin!

Team or not, Roger Federer is the best Tennis player (male) after Pete Samprass and Agassi. Similarly, Rahul Dravid (cricket) was the best batsman ever. I watch Tennis only if Federer is playing and I dont watch cricket today because Dravid has retired. Thats all I know. Nothing beyond.
