Philippines
August 11, 2015 11:13am CST
Just as I thought I still have money left on my wallet. 200$ was just gone in an hour, not even in an hour. Where did it go? LOL! I just can't imagine how fast money slept away from my hands. I withdrawn 200$ this afternoon then went to the grocery store and buy some grocery, I didn't seen must of those grocery! Most people's problem in our country, all goods are in a very high price. I work so hard for a 200$ but in just a moment it was gone.

I know exactly what you mean, as it doesn't take much for our money to be gone, as things cost so much more, which means it takes more for things we need. I try to spend as little as possible when i shop, but it seems to get away from me as well. I am not blessed with a lot of money, and struggling myself, and when things come up like emergencies, it sends my budge down the tubes. Take care, and have a great day.

@Tres_2b that was sad to know that your money was gone into nothing,. same thing here, I don't bring much money if I went out and had no intention to buy something, because snatchers are all over this place.

It happen to me. I withdrew $100 from the atm, walk one round in the supermarket and within tge shortest possible time, all gone. So much so that I'm convince I am a magician....I make money disappear. But the fact is, cost of living is going up but my salary remains stagnant.

@yeezermac $50 is no longer a big deal in these days. Very sad at what the high cost of living has done to us.

$50 could get me through one week when I was younger. $50 will buy me brunch for 2 at a hipster cafe these days.

That's just like how it is....money...here today...gone TODAY. If I were you, I would take my mobile and snap a pic of the receipts of what you spend the money on (or at least make notes). Do that for petty cash spending as well. Review the spending after a week and see if there are small purchases that eat into the expenditure. When you have measured how you spend, perhaps you can better plan how to control the spending later. If you need help, just ask.

haha, i agree. but $200 it seems so much , in China it almost 1200 yuan,, for low-earning people month salary . what you did purchase and buy ? maybe you could save the purchase order and cost it at one time, haha , it will save more

I have not hit like for this article my dear @Katriona_22 .. 200 $ is equal to 12,000 Indian Rupees from which a normal family with basic expenses can lead a month .. I am sad to hear this .. How much effort you might have put to earn this .. Please be careful while handling money

Thanks @Joshbenz, be more careful next time in spending. 200$ equivalent to 8,000 php was gone in a moment. That was probably my basic earnings for the whole month.

Aw, I am sorry that you lose $200 :( I feel you I usually lose my money especially if I don't carry a wallet. I lost 32$ after putting in my bra.

I think putting money on bra's can be more safer, my grandmother always did that.

I hear you loud and clear. I had $60 on Monday to get us through the week and by Monday night I was down to $2. It was all spent on things that I needed to get, but still it went so fast. I can remember my parents talking about how much the cost of things has gone up when I was younger. I understand what they were talking about now. My hope is that I can teach my kids to be frugal and debt free so that they don't have to feel it as much when they are older.

60$ would be gone in a seconds if we don't know how to spend it wisely. Now and then was really different, I hope we live in the time of our parents when everything was just cost too little.

Katriona - It is true that cost of living is rising day by day. Every necessity of life is getting costlier with each passing day. There is huge demand and supply gap. Therefore, you should not wonder that $200 which you earned with your perseverance and hard work, vanished within no time. Don't worry, it is part of life. You will again be able to accumulate many more Dollars to enjoy your life. Keep smiling.

@Katriona_22 - Yes, it is right that if you wish to meet the requirement of buying essential items, you need to earn more and you should have more money at your disposal to spend. In India also, prices of essential commodities (vegetables/oils/pulses etc.) keep rising day by day and we pay under the nose. But what to do, we need to survive.
