Does your dog(s) live inside with you, or outside in the weather? Why?

When I had a dog, they always lived inside with me as I never had a backyard. When I had a backyard, I never had a dog.

inside... beside me... we have toy dogs for pets, maltese and poodles.. so they are not guard dogs I think.

I don't have a pet, not any dog or cat - but this time we have over -30C, so I don't think many dogs could be outdoors - maybe some race that is created for really cold weather...?? When I had a cat, he wanted to go out for a little while but not for long when it was this cold..

Our dogs are inside in all weather because one is very small and old and he would not survive an attack by the coyotes. The other one is still a pup and not really ready to be outside all the time either. She will just bark her head off and anger the neighbors. We're still working on teaching her how to behave, but she's kind of slow to learn things. Plus she probably wouldn't do any better against a pack coyotes either. We use to have a dog that loved to stay outside. We had to make her come in during the winter time. She hated it. In summer and spring she stayed out and had plenty of food and water. If she needed shade there is a big tree and the shop was made with a doggy door just for her to go in and out. Unfortunately we had to put her down due to cancer.

I'm sorry you had to put one of your dogs down. How long ago was this?

@santuccie It was June 12th of last year. She had a tumor in her stomach. surgery wasn't an option however. She did manage to beat the illness for a while there.

@cupkitties I think it's been 2-1/2 years since I put my previous dog down. I now have a pup that's almost two years old. She's jet black, with the body shape of a Lab, the face and ears of a German Shepherd, and spots on her tongue like a pit bull or Chow.
