The Pain of Getting Old

I woke up this morning, my right knee was really swollen and feeling tight on the inside. It really doesn't hurt per say, just that uncomfortable tightness. I figure it's the ole' "water on the knee" thing that older folks get. It seems to come-n-go tho. Then, since I like to crochet and can do it for hours at a time, my left upper arm hurts. Now this IS like the muscles actually hurt a bit, this too I can live with. I've not crocheted for a couple weeks, and my upper arm still want's to hurt a bit. No, it does not keep me from doing everyday things, it's just a nagging muscle hurt. This started a couple months ago, when I sat and crocheted all day long, literally. Never knew I was using muscles in my upper arm for just simple crocheting! I tell you.... it hurts to get old! None of this happened before last year. Seems like only in the past year, I've begun to fall apart! And I'm only 60..... still young enough to be reasonably active.

I certainly know what you mean, as I am 67, and some days I feel older, andsome days I feel younger. My muscles hurt in places I didn't know I had muscles. LOL I fell on my tailbone three years ago, and that healed, but it ended up going into my back, and I have had pain in the lower back ever since. I just try to take each day as it comes, and hope for the best. Age is just a number anyway, so I want to live each day to its fullest.

I'm a little over my mid 40s now. Although I feel mostly good for my age, I certainly don't feel like a spring chicken anymore. The body does go through changes as we get older whether we maintain or not! Hope your knee and arm feel better soon!

You need to spend more time on yourself. Just read this. She is 80 years old.

I have seen my mother complain and wonder why she makes such a fuss about little things.. I guess as I grow older I get wiser and understand that little things really hurt lots more.

Getting #old is no fun. WE do not understand that when we are young, but one day it sneaks up on us.
