yeah he was - I love The Madcap Laughs Dark Globe is painfully beautiful. I'm a member of a Syd (with a bit of Roky Erikson/Pink Floyd/Robyn Hitchcock, general psychedelia and politics on the side) yahoo group - it's a good group (the list owner and some of the members get a bit extreme sometimes so it's not somewhere to go if your easily offended) and you can get hold of rare recordings - some discovered by the group(the HYGIY set) for free. http://www.neptunepinkfloyd.co.uk/hygiy/ What do you think about the auctions of Syd's paintings, notebooks and belongings by his fmaily? I think it's tacky that they're selling things like tatty old furniture and a plastic christmas tree for hundreds of pounds just becausue he owned them but it's good that the moeny going to support artists in Cambridge
