My girls' first day of preschool is on September 8th. They've been on holiday since June. My eldest, who will be 4 in November, has been there for a little over a year. She started in March 2014. And my youngest daughter, who was 2 in June, officially starts this September. It will definitely be special. I know they look forward to it. We went shopping for a new lunch box for them, and they were really happy. We got back and my eldest wanted to go right then and there. My youngest daughter has been wanting to go for a while. She sees her sister have fun, and just wanted to stay with her. It'll be good for them to be at school with some friends and such. I'll enjoy having time with my little guy, but it'll take some time to get used to. It's that time of year for a lot of kids going to school, and such.

I get the "back to school blues" when my kids go back to school. I like having them home with me, and it is sad when they are gone for so long. I realize that there are a lot of parents that breath a sigh of relief when the kiddies are back to school, but I also know that there are many that feel the way I do.

I have mix feelings. I think it's mostly the blues, like you do, but I'm sure I'll enjoy having a bit of a break too.

@dodo19 Yes, it is nice to have a break sometimes, and I do get more work done when the kids are not home. I also have a little "me time", which I do not get when they are not in school, so that is also a plus, but I still miss them.

I know the feeling. I'm a little sad that the summer is over. It was nice to have more time with them, but at the same time, it will be nice to have a bit of a break.

Yeah, it seems as though they're starting earlier than what I remember.

oh, school.. i remember my first time (well, not really, just what my mom tells me) how much i did not want to go. My mom had to drag me to school, literally when it was the first few days. Good thing i got over it after the 2nd grade. I hope she has a great time like her sister.

At least you got over it. I don't remember my first day at school, but I have some memories of my first years.

Oh that sounds so special as a parent. Her first day at school even if it is just preschool. I'm still in school myself. I go back the 1st of September. It's kind exciting since we're going into a brand new just built school this year but I'm also dreading it. It's my last year of highschool so unfortunately I have to work really hard and make difficult decisions not have fun like your daughters. I hope they have a great first day and have fun with your son when they're not there.

The preschool my kids go to is like a regular year type of thing, from September to June. In two years, my eldest starts kindergarten, and it's a new thing.

That's is true. I am kind of sad that the summer is over, and that the kids are going back to school. But it's good for everyone too.
