"It is painful to see old age working itself to death, in what are called civilised countries, for daily bread... pay to every such person of the age of fifty years ... the sum of six pounds per annum out of the surplus taxes, and ten pounds per annum during life after the age of sixty... This support, as already remarked, is not of the nature of a charity but of a right."
~~~Thomas Paine, The Rights of Man.
"Create a national fund, out of which there shall be paid to every person, when arrived at the age of twenty-one years, the sum of fifteen pounds sterling, as a compensation in part, for the loss of his or her natural inheritance, by the introduction of the system of landed property."
~~~Thomas Paine, Agrarian Justice.
This is yet another one I shouldn't have to write. Some people, up-to and including my Editor-In-Chief, Style Manual, do in fact say that I don't have to write it. She went as far as to say that paying attention to washed-up minor former media personalities who were never all that washed to begin with is a complete waste of time and if I did another piece on "Sweet Ass Chocolates (It's Valentine's Day, You Bastards) or Breakfast Beer (My Next (Reluctant) Trip To Minnesota)" it would be less off-putting and nauseating.
All of those people are wrong, of course. But I can see their point. No one wants to read another piece on Glenn Beck and Mike Huckabee (Martin Luther King III 'perplexed' by Huckabee comments)...Just as no one wants to endure chemo or radiation treatments. But if given a chance to beat cancer, most...Not all but most...people will look at the chemo and radiation as being not so bad.
That's the exact same sort of situation we find ourselves in right now. I am your doctor (Which is not that big of a stretch of the imagination because I am the World's Best Gynecologist) and I say you need chemo and radiation. Which comes in the form of reading a little about Glenn and Mike.
None of this applies to you Historians and Poly Sci Majors because this one is going to thrill you but unfortunately, you're not the majority. The majority consists of people who would rather do anything than read about Glenn and Mike. That's why I am going to keep it as short and painless as possible. Just like ripping off a bandage.
You may have already guessed from the clues I've cleverly inserted that it has something to do with Thomas Paine and MLK and you guessed right. As you kids would say: WINNAH WINNAH CHICKEN DINNAH!
Glenn and Mike...Along with nearly all the other Rush clones...are trying really hard (It is a constant thing with them, this is a flare-up, not an isolated incident) to make you think that Tom and MLK, if they were still alive today, would be the biggest Tea Party (10 Most Offensive Tea Party Signs And Extensive Photo Coverage From Tax Day Protests (PHOTOS)) supporters in the country.
The Truth is the complete opposite. Just as with 99.75% of everything else Conservatives say (They mix in a little Truth once in a while just to muddy the waters). For instance, reread the two quotes at the top of this one and ask yourself, "Does that sound like things a Tea Partier would say? Or do they sound like things all the sane Liberals are saying today?" If you're interested...And I hope you are...You can go find lots more by Tom that further prove that Glenn is nothing but a liar and a thief. It's also proof positive that he thinks you're an idiot. A Useful Idiot, if you will.
Alright, now that we've dispensed with the washed-up minor former media personality who was never all that washed to begin with known as Glenn Beck, let's take a look at Mike Huckabee. He's on another, "Look! MLK was just like me!" kick and if you haven't already, you should go read that article I linked to to see just how full of horseradish he is.
Then, watch this:
Mike Huckabee Tells Us What MLK Thinks Of #BlackLivesMatter
That's all. My point has been made. These guys are again trying to rewrite history in the hopes that it will convince you to vote for them...Glenn isn't actually running for anything himself but you should keep in mind that voting for any Republican is the same as voting for him which in turn is exactly the same as handing a four year old a box of matches and a huge pile of high powered fireworks. Just as giving them your money is and that's the other thing they want. And my message is simply: DON'T DO IT!
For those of you who don't recognize/understand the term Crapulous Mass, here is another video that will make it clear:

This wasn't my biggest hit. I've had my Editors reeducated since I wrote this one.
Hey, congratulations on only losing that seat in Alabama by about 30 points. That ought to say something right there.
