Question: What was the last wedding you attended? Tell us about if, you would like. Answer: My own. I actually had two with my husband. One that was in February. That was when we took a road trip with the kids and just married in front of a justice of the peace. The next day we took them out to the science museum to hang out as a family. In July we married in a more traditional style though still very laid back. This one was for friends and family. We had a pot luck dinner and Hubby's uncle did the vows. All of our children were there. Far off family flew in. It was neat. Very family centered because that is what ties us all together.

I actually haven't really attended that many weddings. The wedding before last was my brother's, and there was this big joke because we actually ended up conceiving my daughter while we were on vacation for my brother's wedding (since we live in different states and we had to travel for it). So the last one I went to was my sister's, and everyone kept asking if that meant we would be going back with another souvenir or not. No babies that time. xD Shame, though, that my sister's marriage only lasted for like three weeks. =/ The ceremony was beautiful, but my sister's just the sort that her love life doesn't generally work out all that well.

It is always great when the babies have a story behind them.... I have a sister like that.... sad for them but they also tend to keep going back for more.

@TLChimes It's true. This was actually her second engagement. The first didn't even last a week. This time, she knew it wasn't going to last, and she didn't really want to go through with the wedding but she felt bad because her parents had paid for it. She confessed all this afterwards, of course, when it was too late to do anything. My father said he would've preferred her to back out on the day of the wedding and it would just be a family reunion party instead. xD

That is sad your sister's marriage only lasted a short time, Phyrre. She should have backed out on her wedding day then no need for a divorce. A family reunion would have been much better than the wedding that didn't last.

Sounds wonderful. I have yet to "marry off" any of my grown children. I think it will be fun when I do. My last one was the only one my mother got to be a part of and it made her feel wonderful. She was also able to attend one granddaughter's wedding.

@TLChimes we have 2 left out of 8...Both are at present living with their girl friends..and both are talking marriage in the near future...so we are hoping next year. Our oldest grandson has been with the same girl for about 5 years.. they have been living together for a little less than a year now, so we are hoping they will decide to get married and start those great grand children coming...

The last wedding I attended was in Oklahoma and it was held by a lake they had rented the pavillion for the day and everyone brought some type of food, it was like a pot luck. There was music and lots of different types of drinks. The food was fabulous and the pavillion was decorated really pretty and the couple were friends who had been dating for a few years. He had a house and they were going to redecorate it because she had 2 little girls from a previous marriage. It was a lot of fun.

@TLChimes I would like to see more unusual weddings like this and the reverend came with his wife and they also had a good time, I came to know them quite well and they were fun people. They also brought food and said what a good time they had in performing this ceremony by the river.

It is a long time that I do not attend a wedding. The last one was the daughter of a close friend. It was in France, not held in Church because she already was divorced from her first husband.

My last wedding (my own) was ten years ago. I've been invited to a couple but they are always too far away or we simply couldn't make it work around our family.
