Why are there so many desperate males out there?

I need to explain this because you might say that I am sexist or something like that. About one month ago, there is one guy that has created a fake facebook account with a girl name and face.
Thing is that he constantly got friend requests from males of different ages. They were bombarding him with private messages because they thought that he is a girl and he was laughing off their attitude.
I can bet my life on the fact that a man would have never gotten those kind of private messages at least not THAT MANY.
This makes me wonder why are there so many desperate males out there?
Does anyone know?

I think it's because men are more interested in the physical appearance than women are. Women become interested in men when they like their personalities and get to know them. Men fall in love with the image first. Then after they get to know a woman, they fall out of love if she's not a good match.

@Cristi_Ichim I imagine their wives would not be pleased about it. I cannot account for the male libido or need to connect with pretty girls. It seems quite pervasive.

I think the whole world has gone crazy my friend and also feel that there are many desperate women as well.
With the advent of the social media, it has opened up channels that were previously non existing, so now these people can see more to want. Want is a powerful desire.

But it is a FACT that there are more desperate males than females. I don't get such messages from women like he was getting from those males.

@Cristi_Ichim I do understand that there would be more men. Science would have an explanation for that I am sure haha
