In which I lament all those things...

That I wish could have been, but were not. I lament the year I did not know about the big ampersand site. I think of all the easy money I missed out on. Sorrowful sighs.. I lament that I am too lazy to go through my entire archive there, and delete all the short stories and such. I think the bubble is about to burst, and there may be no opportunity to get those articles back ever again. Which leads me to lament having typed some of them directly into the content box and not into a word processor so I could keep a copy. And mostly, I lament the wasted effort of those who oversee the ampersand, because it's so hard to understand why they don't see what everyone else can see. I will miss it when it's gone for good. I don't see any other future for it.

Your laments are probably shared by many. However, it's no looking back for me now. What's gone is gone, or about to go. So many old friends here now,

@Inlemay it had so much potential and vision and was ruined by all the plagiarising last year. I tried to hold on, but there were only a few of you left. Now I'm glad you're here.

Yes, it really is, Marie. I wish it wasn't like this, I wish all our hard work had saved it.

@Rollo1 Actually you are so spot on, because those that stayed, we put a lot of effort in to keeping the bubbles rolling, It makes one MAD

It's sad when these things happen. All the efforts of those writers to contribute and keep it alive. Is it all just wasted time?

I didn't think it was, I felt we were rebuilding. But it turns out it wasn't worth it after all.

I have the same opinion of @valmnz, your lament is surely shared my many. I have decided that I am not going to lose more time to take out my articles. I have typed all of them into a word processor, if the site goes down, I can resurrect them.

I am glad because you've spent a lot of time with recipes and such. I suppose I need to get my articles out but it's something that requires more energy than I have to spend on such a task.

@Rollo1 I am not happy to let all my posts there, but the site is slow, it takes a lot of time to delete them.

I've got all my posts saved elsewhere, because that's where I wrote them in the first place. I was very discouraged these last few days (that's why I came here), but things are better there today. I haven't given up hope, but it's hard to see how it can survive.

@jaboUK How often should they get to do that? How many times?

Hey! So glad you made it, welcome and salutations! It's a shame and it's sad and I wish I could go on beating the drum for them as I did from January onwards, but I just feel like we've all been trying more than they have.

Well, right now we have our full archive available to us, that might change. Now would probably be the right time to do it.

its jest pitiful, the state 'f affairs there. i've not been able to do much 'f nothin' due to the application error 'n emails fall on deaf ears. i'm 'bout $4 bucks shy 'f redeemin' there after they took 'way nearly $65 with no explanation. not e'en an 'it sucks to be ya!'. i signed on earlier 'n after 3 responses to folks got the dreaded 'a.e.' 'n couldn't e'en sign out...'gain. most disheartenin'. on the plus side, i met a few folks there that i hold dear 'n 'll always be most grateful fer that.

I think there is a lot of sadness to go around, so many dreams dashed and so many good times that now seem over.
