What are the instances or situations religious aspect will always affect your decision in life which sometimes there are things that needs to sacrifice for the sake of religion? In other terms it is not practical anymore? -Example you can't marry your partner because of different religion -You cannot name your kid the way you want it to be because your parents is forcing you to name that is related to saints. -You want your kid to be baptized at the age of 1 but then again your parents is forcing you to baptize right away - You can't have a baby because you are not yet married (well remember we all have different point of view about this matter) - You can't let your infant travel until not yet baptize. - Lastly there is WAR because of religion and now it affects the lives of many people. So what are the other instances that religion affect your decision?

It's all in how we treat Jesus and others.

I believe even without religion we still need to value the good manners and courtesy.

The effect-of-religion that's weighing on my mind right now: Marriage---would we have it WITHOUT religion, or would we never get closer than 'dating-couples who trust each other's fidelity'?

You mean about Church wedding? I know how much we give importance to that.

seeing your examples, i don't think i will ever come to that... but religion does affect some of my decisions in life. Like, when i am stuck, i try my best too do what is right because i was taught in school to do good..like "what would Jesus do"?

Good thing you treat Jesus as your role model because that is really important.

you had a good point in this post. I can't say is religion that it's affecting my life. but there is a fact that I established for myself independent from the religion I might have: I'm only going to have a child after I get married

Sometimes there are some instances that we need to be practical even if without religious concerns. Like of course having a kid after marriage is still practical because we will never know yet of our assurance to our partner.

I'm much more interested in trying to be a good person than in following what any religion says I should do. I hate the fact that there are so many wars over religion and that makes me find it difficult to believe that any one religion is right.

@Butchcass4 I just can't imagine for that too, that it came to the point even the innocent ones like kids have to suffer and to be killed because of that war. When seeing pictures of the war both survivors and victims, I already had my tears that I could imagine myself on their shoes. So heartbreaking.

I don't care about religions but I do care about my personal relationship with Jesus Christ as John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life." I believe in the Bible. But when it comes to religion I think of ISIS they have a religion and their god who tells them to kill whoever isn't like them. Jesus says to love your enemies and do good to them.

All this sounds very exotic to me. I'm glad I live in Central Europe (Germany).
