Time Zones - an interesting observation

I am from India and an early riser. I am up by five and the first thing I do after a cuppa is to be here and what do you know I see some from Europe myLotting. My 5 am will be around 1 am for them. I spot some from the US when it is past 11 am here which means they have not yet gone to bed. New Zealand is around 7 hours ahead of us. I have spotted them at my evening time. What is your sleeping pattern?

I have noticed a similar thing on the other site I write on. I'll be posting and commenting late at night (here in the USA), and I'll notice friends from the UK posting and responding as well. They are 6 hours ahead in time from my time zone, which means that it could be 2:00am, 3:00am or later in the UK. What are they doing up so late?

Europe is so placed that they have the benefit of all zones if they extend staying up a bit late.

@moffittjc I would rather say interaction. I love being here 'chatting' with the whole world.

@allknowing That is so true! I guess Europe is the place to be for maximum MyLot earnings! lol

I am in the time zone UTC+1 - India is UTC +5.30 there are only 4 and half hours difference in our working time. I usually go to sleep around 11 pm (3.30 am your time) and I wake up in the morning at 6 am.

Europe is so placed that they get to interact both with the US and India when they are online.

@allknowing Yes, starting from noon our time, I see the US users from the East Coasts logging in and starting their day.

even people in the same time zone don't log in at the same time, and when they're here, how long they stay also varies. what's great is all activity is recorded and there are links everywhere. so even if you're not around, you will see in your notifications and in other people's profiles what they did and where they've been and follow them there or not.

There is no doubt that everything is recorded. But my experience tells me that if one wants a back and forth interaction one needs to be there.

@hereandthere I am aware of it but with time zones they are not easily accessible. I hope you know what I am saying.

@allknowing what i meant was it's okay if others are not around the same time you are. the platform is set up so that you can catch up with them.

Most days, but obviously not always, I stop myLot around dinner time. This week has been an exception, as I haven't been on much during the day. If we are seven hours ahead of you, I challenge you to spot me between 5 pm and 12.30 am your time

@valmnz So from now on it will be 'now you see me, now you don't' right? Anyway I was watching your feverish activity here ever since you joined.

I'm from England but I rarely go to bed before 4am. It's nearly 2am now. Because I'm retired I can get up when I like, which is usually about 11am, unless I have something particular to do.

I usually go to bed these days around 10 or 11pm and wake at about 6 or 7am but it can be earlier. This morning it was 4:30am, I think! I also often have a nap for 2 hours in the afternoon, especially if I woke early. At the moment, we are UTC+1 and I think that India is 5.5h ahead of us and Kansas is 5h behind.

It is 11.30 a.m. here just now and it shows 7.30 a.m.UK time. We are + 5.5 greenwich mean time. You must be getting ready to have your breakfast while our kitchen is buzzing with activity - getting lunch ready. It is rice, vegetable and fish curry

I really enjoy this aspect of most any site really. Always someone around. I am still up at 5a a lot and it is nice to still have people around.

Catching up with posts of our connections who are here at different times could be quite a task.
