Tiny baby gecko

Caught this guy last night in the house. Did a short photoshoot with him. He was a good subject and patient. Released him back into the wild.

Oh, it's precious! I love the textures and the amount of detail you've captured here, too. Was this taken with a macro lens?

Yes. I have two macro lens. This one was shot with a Sigma 180 mm macro lens. I also have a Canon MP-E 65mm 1x-5x macro lens.

@loki1982 Very nice! I have the Tamron 90mm, but after seeing this I'm convinced I need to look into adding that Sigma to my kit after I get my 24-70mm.

@yukimori The sigma runs about 600-800 new. It's probably my favorite lens as far as for what I like to shoot. The Canon MP-E 65mm is awesome but it has it's drawbacks. You can only shoot between 1x and 5x magnification. So you can never get anything larger than about a quarter into the picture. At least with the sigma you can back off and shoot normal photos, but you're limited to 1x magnification without tubes and such. And I always use a Canon MT-24EX flash.
