29 Years Old & Menopausal!

I apologize that I have not been on that often over the past two days, but I have been quite ill due to my period and having to prepare myself for my first hormone injection to stop my periods. The hormone injection triggers menopausal symptoms, which I am not looking forward to :( I am 29 years old and have to go through Menopause early!

I had tumors and had to have a hysterectomy back when I was about 30 years of age. I went through a very emotional time and was put on Premarin for a period of time. My daughter is now about 44 and I think she is going through this. She has the night sweats.

I sweat profusely. I have stopped going out completely because of that because I never know when I will have that attack. It is sudden usually and lasts only for three to four minutes but I get drenched in my sweat. So far they say it is normal. I am not sure. When I asked whether I needed hormonal treatment, my doctor was very firm. She said just increase the water intake and try to have washes frequently. And stay in cool places. I switched to cottons, can't wear full sleeve garments. I can't wear trousers. I have to have full length skirts to feel insides properly aired. I can understand those night sweats alright. I sleep on floor without bedsheet so that the coolness of floor keeps me cool.

@sharon6345 ..sweetie hope things get better for you. I am 56. So it is but natural that I go through some of these things. It can be quite embarrassing wiping sweat in front of others.

@sharon6345 ..yes, but it is not supposed to last right? It should be over in a couple of years. Doc says so. She says wait till 2017. If things don't get better, we will then think of something. She wants it to go naturally. It is four and a half years already since I stopped and I have been suffering even before that.

I had to have a partial hysterectomy at age 28 due to cervical cancer. Fortunately, I did still have one tube and ovary so I didn't have to go through menopause. Is there anything else they can do besides making you go into early menopause? I don't know your situation but it does seem quite drastic.

Hormones really mess you up, whether it's one or another, they can cause a lot of uncomfortable symptoms. Good luck with this.

I had a hysterectomy at the age of 50, so I was forced into menopause. I had bad periods, with clotting, and also fibroids. I am glad I am not having them anymore. I don't ever have to wory about that again, and that is a good thing. I would do it all over again, but I wouldn't have wanted it at such a young age you are.

Sorry to hear that. Have you been advised hysterectomy? Hormone supplements should see you through the difficult times.
