are the biggest bird and can way about 320 pounds. They are the only bird that has only two toes. The female is brown and the male is black with white. They can live between 50 and 75 years. Their eggs weigh about 3 pounds. What an odd bird. They live about as long as people do.

I didn't know that they lived that long. I had a cockatiel once and they live to about 25 years old.

Birds do have a life span don't they? Some longer than others.

@celticeagle Yes they do. I think parrots live a lot longer but not sure on that.

I did not know this about ostriches that they live so long. They are huge birds. I would be afraid of them lolz

They may be strange and unusual creatures, but they do provide us with fabulous bacon and egg breakfasts.

They are funny birds, do you know that there are ostrich races? I have seen some videos on YouTube.
