What is your favorite Thanksgiving Day food?

United States

We eat turkey quite frequently during the year. That's one reason we don't always fix turkey for Thanksgiving (or Christmas). When we do fix turkey it is always a turkey breast as that fits our needs the best. But my favorite Thanksgiving Day food, no matter what else we make, is mashed potatoes. It seems that mashed potatoes to me means 'holiday'. I don't make them often but when I do I really love them. Another Thanksgiving food which is on my top five list is succotash. Succotash is basically corn and Fordhook lima beans cooked together. They have to be Fordhook, not the baby limas! What about you - what is your favorite Thanksgiving Day food?

What is biriyan? You have to explain these dishes as a lot of us probably don't know them.

We usually have turkey only at Thanksgiving so I quite look forward to it. I love the stuffing, the cranberry jelly , the squash and the potatoes. Those are the main things to me.

My favorite is the turkey,! I love the turkey sandwiches, all of those delicious turkey sandwiches at the end of the day.As I was growing up my mother always made cornish hens as she was not fond of turkey, she also made mince meat pie, cranberries succotash and candied yams, unlike her I like traditional, roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, green bean casserole, cranberries and pumpkin pie!
