The World Of Digital Currency / myLot

I have to say the world of digital currencies such as bitcoins both intrigues and confuses me. It seems that this money that doesn't not exist away from the world wide web holds a lot of power and wealth, but I just don't get where it's value comes from. Strangely I do own a very, very small amount of digital currency which I was given, but I have never worked out what to do with it. The world of digital currency is often surrounded by suspicion and it is my understanding that these currencies are used on the black market. Have any of you guys had any dealings with digital currencies or are you all as wary of it all as I am?

i've heard 'f such 'n'm most wary. 'course all my hearin's been 'f the 'dark world' 'n i steer far clear from such.

i have heard the same @crazyhorseladycx it all seems to relate to the dark net, which is something I have no interest of getting involved with.

I have read about Bitcoins, of course, but I don't fully understand them, by any means. I thought that the original idea was that they would not relate to traditional currency at all and that therefore it should not be possible to buy or sell them with traditional currency. I don't own any and would not begin to know how to go about owning them or claiming them if I did.
